AIBU to be sick of this weather already?!

I didn’t grow up here, so not used to the relentless rain! Although, I’ve lived here over 15 years so I should be! I’m already fed up with all this rain or perhaps it’s the rainy forecast that puts me off more. As it always says rain rain rain all day and sometimes it’s not. But then it makes me feel like it’s raining all day.

For those who are not sick of the rain, what do you love about it?

It didn’t bother me at all before I had children. I guess because I focus so much on them playing outside, getting exercise and also the dog as well, that I get annoyed when it rains! And yes, we go out when it’s raining as well. But it’s just so much nicer and longer outings when it’s dry.

I am literally the only person at our allotments in the rain.

I hate it...it plays havoc with my hair and i look ridiculous constantly.

DrCoconut · 30/09/2019 21:30

I've had enough of autumn and dark nights now. Bring on the summer. And make it a proper one next year!

megletthesecond · 30/09/2019 21:32

Yanbu.
I've lived here all my life and I'm sick of this weather chopping and changing.
I only do heat. Sept to May is horrible.

couldntcareless · 30/09/2019 21:52

I LOVE RAIN!

SnowsInWater · 01/10/2019 08:15

I hate rain, I grew up in Ireland and my main memories of my teenage years are about being cold and wet waiting for buses that often failed to appear 😐

I live in Sydney now and I swear my mental health is so much better!

golddustwomen · 01/10/2019 09:18

I don't mind light rain like today. The biblical weather we had last week was a pain in the arse though.
What I hate is when it's raining but also muggy as hell!

dontdoxmeeither · 01/10/2019 10:29

Love it. Love autumn and winter.

I'm an indoor-y person and I'm never comfier than snuggled on the sofa while the rain and wind batter away outside.

I do like spring/summer but only when I'm abroad Grin

AuntieMarys · 01/10/2019 10:31

I did an 11 mile walk in the rain on Sunday

ssd · 01/10/2019 10:31

I hate the rain

Mind you I hate the sunshine too

Oh well. Takes all sorts.

HairyFloppins · 01/10/2019 10:33

I love it, keeps all my arsehole neighbours in and their back doors shut and stops their dogs from barking all the time.

elloelloello · 01/10/2019 10:57

I hate it. Completely sick of it now

We have horses - I got home last night after getting soaked through to my underwear again and threatened to sell the blooming things

Mud everywhere, trying to dry sopping turnout rugs, my coat never seems to fully dry out, I got a face full of wet hay caught in the wind last night when poo picking their field. Horizontal rain the minute I start walking across the field to get them in.

It’s just horrid. Every bloody day at the moment

Where’s this crisp, cosy autumn that everyone raves about?

Perisoire · 01/10/2019 10:58

I love being cosy inside while it’s raining outside.

Baguetteaboutit · 01/10/2019 11:00

The trick is to assume that it will rain constantly between September and May and then be pleasantly surprised when it lifts.

Lyingonthesofainthedark · 01/10/2019 11:11

Hate, hate, hate it.

LoonyLunaLoo · 01/10/2019 13:30

@Baguetteaboutit I like you’re thinking, but that’s 9 months out of the year! And it rains for most of August too so basically we just have to hope June and July are nice enough to carry us through the rest of the year 😫

Likethebattle · 01/10/2019 13:34

I hate it but living in Scotland it’s pretty much hard to avoid.

Can relate, grew up in the North West.
