Here for traffic. Any lawyers around?

I bought an item of clothing at a show yesterday. There were no items available to try on. I got home and it looks terrible on me. Stall holder has outright refused a refund and says there was a sign clearly stating no refunds.

I'd normally let something like this go but I run a business and bend over backwards to ensure clients are happy and this comes at the end of a run of shoddy customer service.

Does anyone know what my rights are?

Google not helping.

Oh come on OP YABU- you're making your frustration about losing money the stallholders problem, and using entitlement as the means of justification.

The signs were up re: no refund, you chose to agree to those terms when you knew that and made a sale. You are the one who has misjudged the suitability of what you bought. Thoughts of trying to deliberately wreck what sounds like a rather small scale business of another woman's just because you are in a strop wouldn't be s very good look at all, or justified.

Feel annoyed at the situation by all means, limit yourself to half an hours griping or something and move on though. Sell it on ebay, give it to charity. It's just one of those things.

@JoObrien7 You might want to be careful about giving legal advice as a legal assistant, which isn't a widely-understood term. You could easily be misleading people into believing you're legally qualified, and relying on your advice. If you are legally qualified, then feel free to ignore this, but I think by assistant you mean that your services are secretarial. If that's the case, you aren't authorised to provide legal advice and you should probably stop doing it.

@WhoTellsYourStory agreed, legal assistant could mean PA or admin support.

What’s more she hasn’t worked for 3 years 🤦🏻‍♀️

GreytExpectations · 01/10/2019 14:05

@JoObrien7 Please stop attempting to "give legal advise". You dont know what you are talking about and you risk people taking you seriously because you have said you are a legal assistant and people may automatically think you are fully qualified. Plus your advise is shit anyways and should not be followed.
