Anyone got an island to hold a republican festival on?

It is a minor royal. Easy enough event to avoid.

A much more low key event than the future King's brother getting married.

Actually, if The Queen pays for ALL of it (including security bill) and it's announced that it's not cost the tax payer a penny, but they will make it public so we get to see all the lovely dresses (or not), then it's a win-win isn't it?

She could save costs. Bea could have an off the peg £3,000 dress, altered to fit, - she'd still look fab. Could do a bring and share lunch. She could make her own table decs - there's loads of ideas on Pinterest. The savings for the Queen are endless.

I managed to not have a clue what Kate’s dress was like until 2015. I was ridiculously cross when I eventually saw a clip was shown on some programme or other.*

Perhaps you should gouge your eyes out with a biro just in case.

Self mutilate or go on holiday? Tough one.

A little odd OP - I save my crossness for things that matter! Grin
