To despise my FIL

I’ve never met such a useless, hateful man.

My lovely, selfless MIL was diagnosed with brain cancer 2.5 weeks ago. She’s had surgery and is struggling.

Past couple of days she’s struggled with a chesty cough and we eventually persuaded her this morning that she should see someone.

We phoned oncology and unfortunately they were really busy but suggested we go to A&E. MIL tells FIL she needs to go to A&E.

His response?

But I’m in the middle of my breakfast

I’m not a violent person but I want to smash his selfish face in.

We’re overseas and need to fly home on Monday leaving her with him

MILs get a lot of shit on here but mine is just lovely.

She was. She was so pleased to get to spend time with her grandson. It really was a comfort.

FIL is playing the devastated widower. Shame he didn’t care so much when she was alive.

Flying home on Sunday then DH will fly back for the funeral without me. Not dragging an 8 month old baby on another 2 flights.

Oh I'm sorry. My condolences.
Possibly some small comfort that you were able to be there at the end, and you did not have many months more of worrying about her and how she was coping/being looked after.
She's free now.
