To hate "going for a walk?"

I wish I didn't but I just find it so boring! Walking around the same streets, passing the same lamp posts and houses. We live in a fairly decent area and have two lovely dogs. DH walks the dogs twice a day and absolutely loves it but I just find walking so tedious. I wish I didn't hate it as its great to get out and get fresh air etc but I find it such a chore. Anyone else feel the same?

@MB34 not only i walk lots on mountains like your DH, i run up them!

My DH would agree with you.
But I disagree. I LOVE walking. I love climbing. I love walking my dog (that’s half the reason we got him).
Mix it up! Go to interesting places, wear a Fitbit/clock your miles, your routes, track your progress.
3 years ago I was diagnosed with an illness that may put me in a wheelchair. My biggest fear.
So, now I walk, walk, walk whilst I can!!

I LOVE walking round town. Seeing what's new, peering in people's front gardens, judging their new front doors and curtains Grin. I walk miles in town and in the nearby country, it helps me think.
I can't sit in for long though I get antsy and need air and smells. Perhaps I am a dog.

Did anyone see that scene in Mum where Cathy wants to go for a walk and Kelly and Jason want to know where they are going?
That's you that is.

I don't enjoy walking or exercise in general but I know it's needed to keep me fit. I was advised that walking with a purpose (ie to go out and buy a loaf of bread, etc) is better than just walking round the block for its own sake. Would that help?

I was coming on to say YABU but then I see you have described 'walking the dogs' and not what I would consider 'going for a walk'. 'Going for a walk' in my opinion involves heading out, some nice scenery and perhaps a picnic and a pub. Some places you may be able to combine both (my Granny used to live next to a lovely route through some woods and a field and the dog loved it). However, most people will need to 'walk the dog' around the residential area they live in and this is not, in my opinion, 'going for a walk'. Sure that is as clear as mud. YANBU. Grin

I love the exercise of walking - about the only exercise I DO enjoy. I walk to and from the metro station every day and feel so much better for it. I used to listen to music but now I listen to downloaded plays and books from BBC iplayer. Actively look forward to the walk to hear the next episode. would find it boring just walking. Different when I am on holiday I go for a walk/explore every day.

I legit thought it was just me. I hate it with a passion and can’t understand how people can do it for fun. It’s meant to be a mood booster but it does the opposite for me
