AIBU to even think that I could actually BE pregnant and the test was right after all?

I am undergoing fertility treatment, not due to take my test until Friday (had to wait 2 weeks and 2 days). However I have felt so helpless that I caved and bought 2 tests.

Pink dye test from B&M - cheap at 2 for £1, then one clear blue.

I got a very very faint line on my clear blue but a negative on my pink one.

I am in a group on Facebook for people undergoing IU and IVF and the majority said that Clear blue tests are notorious for false positives and a web search does confirm this.

One minute I feel heartbroken, then the next I think "I could be!"

I am too scared to test again until Friday as I am happier not knowing for sure, than getting another negative :(

Anyone have experience of mixed results on certain pregnancy tests?

Keeping fingers crossed it's positive for you! If it helps, Clear Blue showed positive for me when other tests were negative, first test looked very similar to your first. I am pregnant so Clear Blue was in the right!

Those sevond pics arent even squinters, theres definately lines there! So excited for you! Have you told your DP yet?

I wish people wouldn't get the OPs Hope's up it's really unkind. Theres positive "I hope you get the positive you want" etc but to say "I can definitely see lines - tell your DP etc" is unkind when shes been told not to test til Friday and shes going through treatment which can cause false positives etc.

Hi Warship, I have tested out the trigger so I know that has left but I do understand your concerns.

@OpiesOldLady DP does know about this mornings test but we are both being a little tentative as we know a FRER will be more accurate.

Ok OP I just dont want you to be upset that's all and whipped up into a hopeful frenzy! But doesn't mean I dont have all fingers and toes crossed for you x

See, I’m in the camp of what’s the point in waiting and daily or several daily tests helps see if there’s a line getting darker or weaker to prepare myself. Good luck!

Fingers crossed. I was told you can’t get a false positive as it is detecting the pregnancy hormone. I hope it’s positive and I hope if it is you have a really healthy pregnancy and a happy, healthy baby.

My first cycle of IVF worked and my son is now almost 3 so it can happen, I was 36 at the time. Fingers crossed for you.

Best of luck. I cannot imagine how people feel in this situation but I always send positive (hormones!) thoughts their way.

Without the IVF I’d definitely say that all the tests you’ve posted are positive. No doubt.

With the IVF I don’t know enough to say either way. I do hope you get the positive you want
