AIBU to even think that I could actually BE pregnant and the test was right after all?

I am undergoing fertility treatment, not due to take my test until Friday (had to wait 2 weeks and 2 days). However I have felt so helpless that I caved and bought 2 tests.

Pink dye test from B&M - cheap at 2 for £1, then one clear blue.

I got a very very faint line on my clear blue but a negative on my pink one.

I am in a group on Facebook for people undergoing IU and IVF and the majority said that Clear blue tests are notorious for false positives and a web search does confirm this.

One minute I feel heartbroken, then the next I think "I could be!"

I am too scared to test again until Friday as I am happier not knowing for sure, than getting another negative :(

Anyone have experience of mixed results on certain pregnancy tests?

I'd just do the FRER now. If the clear blue picked it up a few days ago, the FRER certainly will now🤷🏼‍♀️ save yourself a few days of anxiety

Good luck op. I’ve been there a few times. The final cycle I caved and tested after a week - I got a positive about the same as yours so fingers crossed for you.

That looks like a positive test to me! I had a very similar looking positive test on Christmas Day, and a baby in my arms at the beginning of September, so a very early positive! I tested with a FRER that evening and that one was a much clearer positive. Good luck OP!! :)

I've never had a false positive on clear blue. It depends on the sensitivity of the pink dye whether it would work or not. The clear blue have always given me the same result as a frer.

I wouldn't be able to wait until Friday!

would a first response show anything in an evening pee?

That looks pretty positive to me!!

As for evening pee just try not to drink loads so the wee is concentrated then the concentration of hcg is higher

I am still doubting because of those test strips. I have a first response coming from amazon today. Should I test in work?!

I would test first response tomorrow morning if I were you, it's still so early so probably best to be sure by using morning urine

I think if you don't go for a wee for 4(?) hours then that makes it pretty much the same as FMU. Hold it in, OP! also FRER are much more sensitive than clear blues so I think it would. I know I wouldn't be able to resist. Everything crossed for you!

That definitely looks positive to me. It's not even a squinter to be honest. The false ones usually look grey or thin but that's thick and blue.
The first response should show a line now I would think. I'd take it as soon as I got it but I'm impatient

I'd take it tomorrow morning. It'd kill me, I'm so impatient, but I'd be lost if I got a negative because it wasn't FMU and then you'd have to test again, and you'll just prolong the rollercoaster. That looks pretty positive to me; but I'd leave it until tomorrow and test then at the earliest... Friday feels a long way away, so tomorrow morning is still a good compromise! It's a lot sooner.

It looks positive to me as well and I usually can't see these mythical 'positive' early lines other people can.
