AIBU to get INSANELY IRRITATED when using the Boots website

The Boots website has been a source of sheer anger for me for years (and others, another forum I used to go on had a rolling thread) so this is just another in a long list!
The worst thing to date has been their incoherent listing of kids' clothes in the Mini Club section - if you filter by size you got a few in a handful of sizes then loads with the size "size". Useful.

Today I wanted to buy some plastic bibs similar to ones that I got in Boots before ages ago. Search for 'bib'. Get shown the 'section' of "feeding" > 'bibs and muslins'. Nothing relevant in there. No products that have 'bib' in the description that haven't been categorised into the section "bibs and muslins".

I try 'crumb catcher' as this is the sort of bib it is - no result.

I go into Mini Club kids' clothing (several hundred products), guess 'accessories', scroll down and finally find, in the boy's section, the entirely gender-neutral bibs I want. They have 'bib' in the product title and 'crumb catcher' in the description.

It's almost as if they don't want people to find the thing they're looking for. And don't get me started on the first thing you see when you search "We have 0 articles & videos on 'bib'" before you even see the product results. Who cares about articles and videos?

Totally agree!!!! Never used it for kids clothes but the makeup and hair stuff is abysmally bad to navigate around - dont understand how such a huge company can have such a shoddy website.

I remember they had the same foundation listed twice with each listing having some shades but not all. The difference was one was "L'Oreal" and one was "LOreal" without the " ' ", or something similar. Or perhaps 'e' rather than 'é'

YANBU! I don't understand how it can be so crap - it's never my go to when shopping online for stuff that you can get elsewhere.

Yes its dire. When you filter by size, it comes up with results, and narrows it down, then when you try and put your chosen size into the basket its sold out. So the filters dont work.

I'd love not to have to use it but I find their kids clothes good quality and overpriced but with decent sales but the bigger sizes are never in store

The kids' clothes are lovely and probably the main reason I shop at Boots at all. The sizing filter has never reliably worked in the approx 5 years I have been using it. I filled in those feedback surveys that pop up several times pointing this out but it was never fixed afaict.

Don’t use it then 😂 Oh! Like we hadn’t thought of that! Ffs, some things you can only get at Boots, and I don’t always have the time to go into the city center before I need said thing.

Totally agree- it's abysmal. Search function, layout, navigation, all completely fucked. I've been exasperated with it one too many times already and I haven't even given birth yet! I love Boots but they need to pull their finger out with their website.

Totally agree it's a total pain to navigate and filter to find things . It seems to freeze a lot. Also nightmare trying to get gift cards to work. I have given up trying.

@LordNibbler well if it's so irritating then why would you? Unless you're a glutton for punishment. It's totally illogical.

I imagine there's very little you can get at Boots that you can't get at superdrug / Amazon / supermarkets. Especially plastic bibs like the OP is describing. You can get them all over the place. Plus of course there's always the option of going to the shop.

So why bother with the website if it's so bad?

@OP the site kept taking items out of my basket as I added new items. It was make up bits for my sisters so specific colours and such. By the time I got to check out (I thought maybe it was a site traffic issue (?) so left it for a couple hours) two of the items were only available for collection and another two wouldnt be delivered until after christmas. I wanted to weep lol

Yes, OP. Boots website is absolute crap. I was incensed recently to find that you can’t redeem Boots gift vouchers on the website, only in store. Utterly ridiculous.

Yes we could all sit there and complain too but that's as much use to the OP as a chocolate teapot.

I spent AGES putting together a basket of stuff to spend a gift card on, looking at various offers and comparing carefully to work out what would get me the best value for money (bad enough as the different offers and advantage card deals are confusing) only to find I couldn’t use a gift card online! In 2019! I was outraged.

I used to use it when they accepted international orders and it was terrible then. Surprised to hear that it is still so bad. No wonder they seem to be struggling.

Boots is terrible in general. The website is one of the worst I've ever used but in store experience is getting equally bad. The bigger stores are very badly laid out and expensive if there are no 3 for 2 offers. The smaller stores have very limited stock. I just go to Sainsbury's now.

It's alright, I've got young kids so I'm used to just smiling and ignoring "helpful" comments!

It's not really relevant to me what people "imagine", eh. (actually, @Lockheart, please do point me to plastic (not silicone) sleeveless bibs with a fold-under crumb-catcher, as I did look extensively and defaulted to going to the shop I'd bought them from before).
