Maybe I’m getting old and grumpy but Vera, what’s going on?

There are some lovely dresses in there. Do bear in mind that these dresses are for fashionable good looking people with expensive weddings.

ashleylamp · 22/09/2019 10:55

Really? I think they are mostly ghastly and look rushed and cheap! Like a net curtain frenzy.

Gosh. None of those scream wedding to me. In fact they don't even whisper it...

soccerbabe · 22/09/2019 10:58

I like the detailed lacework. There's some lovely dresses just struggling to escape from the naff shapes/detailing. In particular the ruff neck/and velvet ribbon details.

Thistle23 · 22/09/2019 10:58

Not my cup of tea.

Walnutwhipster · 22/09/2019 10:58

Some are stunning.

Do you think she might have sold her company? FYI I was annoyed that I married just before The Vera Wang era (tail end of meringues)

Symptomless · 22/09/2019 11:01

Not my style but I can see why others might like them.

QualCheckBot · 22/09/2019 11:01

Quite like them, especially the highlighted one. A friend of mine recently got married in a non-traditional but stunning dress and I have to admit that I wore a ball dress to my wedding.

MakeItRain · 22/09/2019 11:02

You don't need help to understand anything. They are the Emporer's New Clothes. Bought by people with more money than sense.

feelingverylazytoday · 22/09/2019 11:02

They're absolutely awful. I can't imagine anyone wanting to wear one, but you never know.

SerenDippitty · 22/09/2019 11:03

The blue one looks like a very expensive nightie.

danmthatonestakentryanotheer · 22/09/2019 11:05

Never mind the dresses..those miserable faces are enough to put me off.

MoonageDaydreamz · 22/09/2019 11:05

There are a couple of really beautiful ones on there but generally I agree, they're too far out.

I had a Vera Wang dress, I was going to sell it to justify the cost... But then couldn't bring myself to!

But when I got married, they were the only place where you could get something a bit different, but still beautiful, but they did look like wedding dresses.

Most of those don't translate from catwalk to real life.

BigusBumus · 22/09/2019 11:06

Wow they are all hideous!

Ponoka7 · 22/09/2019 11:06

They're high fashion wedding dresses, fpr people who wear high fashion clothing.

If you saw them face to face, knew about fabrics etc, you'd see the quality in the tulle/lace etc.

There's only two i like out of every collection. But walking around high Street shops over the last week has shown me that i don't like anything they're selling.

The skirts are too short and everyone is putting that stupid ruffle at the bottom of dresses, 70's style.

BentNeckLady · 22/09/2019 11:08

Do bear in mind that these dresses are for fashionable good looking people with expensive weddings.

How patronising.

Do bare in mind that us normal looking, not stinking rich folk have eyes in our heads.

Some of those dresses are pretty. None one them look like wedding dresses.

HellonHeels · 22/09/2019 11:08

WtF is that blue negligee number? It's bedroom attire!

ashleylamp · 22/09/2019 11:10

Even if they are beautiful fabrics and skilful embroidery etc, I don’t get why ANYONE would want to look like they have no shoulders.

Awful dresses. I would feel uncomfortable being in front of my parents or even a vicar wearing things like that.

sparklefarts · 22/09/2019 11:13

This one without the weird neck thing would be stunning

schoolsoutforever · 22/09/2019 11:18

I quite like a number of these dresses. (not the blue one). I'm not sure why you have to have a dress that is recognisably a wedding dress to get married in. You should just wear what you like. I'm not sure they'd suit me either but on the right person I'd think some of these are beautiful.
