We have an arrangement in our house. I support the England football team (except when they’re playing Wales obv) and DH supports the Wales rugby team even when they are playing England. Perfectly fair I think.

I know of one household where one is fervently pro-Wales, and the other equally fervently supports the English. I'm surprised there's not blood on the walls. . .

For the infamous Wales v England game in 2015 where England were knocked out of their home wc, we were at a Welsh friend's house. The Welsh hymns on vinyl made an appearance, there was singing at length, and I nearly started googling divorce solicitors 😂

We were at the millennium stadium once, I think in 2013, right at the top and our 2 seats had the steps directly in front of us. Wales thumped England 30-3 and DH danced around in front of me in what can only be described as a provocatively smug way. I still have no idea how I managed to hold myself back from pushing him down the steps!

I myself, of course, am never provocative or smug when England beat Wales 😂

Would love it to be England or one of the home nations. But it'll be New Zealand. They looked fantastic against SA today

I get to support England and Australia, but England would be in first place. Just. But think it'll be NZ again I don't want it to be another northern hemisphere team that win though. I still like to brag that England is the only northern hemisphere team to have won the World Cup

I was in Wales for the 1999/2000? Rugby World Cup. I was on a work jolly. Went down for a drink in the bar, and once they found out where I was from - didn't buy a drink all night, and bugger work, I was adopted by all these lovely Welsh people as we watched the game! And OMG could they sing. I can't.

And that would have been justifiable homicide LemonRedwood. . . no jury (in England!) would have convicted you. . .

The only frustrating thing about this world cup! I'll probably still have a beer whilst watching at 8am in my pyjamas 😂

Our local is opening at 8.30 to show the Ireland Scotland match, then England Tonga afterwards. I forsee a pub full english most likely followed by a pub lunch and a pub dinner

It's my birthday. I'm watching the match with a glass of bucks fizz. I predict that Scotland are not going to get through to the final, but hoping Wales will at least make the semis. I think the All Blacks will rise to the occasion as always.

I was a bit 'meh' about this match, as whilst I live in Ireland, DP gets a bit big for his boots if they do too well. So I listened to the psychic sheep they had on the tv last night and put a euro on a draw.

Last time I take gambling advice from a farm animal.

When DP wakes up this afternoon he will be unbearable (night shifts means I don't have to listen to him crowing in real time)
