Would you classify this bin as being "put out" for collection or is it too far from the kerb?

Or rather are the Council?

Way too far. That hasn't been put out at all.

stayathomegardener · 17/09/2019 20:23

Oh dear... it's about 2m from the kerb.

OP posts:
ghostyslovesheets · 17/09/2019 20:24

that's on the drive - same distance as my bins on my drive - you need to move them curb side if you want them emptied

Unshriven · 17/09/2019 20:24

That looks fine to me.

Do the bin men think it's a shy and retiring type of bin or something?

Waiting to be asked out?

It's a bin. Out on bin day. Empty the fucking thing.

dementedpixie · 17/09/2019 20:24

I would have put it in front of the bushes

Iheartdonuts · 17/09/2019 20:25

That's not been put out. It's still on your property.

Justgivemesomepeace · 17/09/2019 20:25

Our bin men would take that

gamerchick · 17/09/2019 20:25

It's too far away and charge your phone.

Bringmewineandcake · 17/09/2019 20:26

No, the bin needs to be at the end of the drive if you want it emptying.

They probably wouldn't even have spotted it.

OverInfestedBadger · 17/09/2019 20:26

You should definitely supply and fit if possible

stayathomegardener · 17/09/2019 20:27

If I put it off the drive firstly it would be in the road (fast and on a bend) and secondly you couldn't pull off the road to open the gates.

Disclaimer it's not my house and I don't normally put the bin out.

Oodlesandpoodles · 17/09/2019 20:27

Bin men have a difficult job, put the bin out properly like everyone else maybe?

Next you’ll complain they haven’t put it back correctly.

Ohflippineck · 17/09/2019 20:28

We have to put ours on the pavement: though the bin men seem to think it’s ok to put at least 3 other people’s back with mine when they’re empty 🙄

CrohnicallyEarly · 17/09/2019 20:28

We are told to put the bin on the edge of our property. The bin men should be able to get it without stepping fully on to your property, but it shouldn’t be on the pavement because it can cause in obstruction (fine for the bin men to leave it there though! 🙄)

If the line of bricks closest to the bin is the edge of your property then it’s fine. If the line of kerbstones at the bottom of the picture is the edge of your property then it’s too far in.

SummerSun10 · 17/09/2019 20:31

It looks like it's neat;y tucked away. not out for bin collection. Maybe move it a meter forwards so it looks like it is there for collection?

stayathomegardener · 17/09/2019 20:32

I have queried it (complained) and the bin people apparently took a photo of it not being out.

Can't possibly charge phone as dog is too comfortable on me and yes supply and fit is the only way forward.

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 17/09/2019 20:33

Could you put it where the crosses are? Is that still the pavement?

Or rather are the Council?
KnifeAngel · 17/09/2019 20:34

Ours wouldn't have collected that. It has to be kerbside which it isn't.

Templetonstunafish · 17/09/2019 20:35

God you'd think if they and time to take a photo they could have gone and got it though!

stayathomegardener · 17/09/2019 20:37

I could have put it (X) but then would have the car sticking out in the road to open the gates.

There is a certain irony that I carefully considered all these things at the time.

OP posts:
mum11970 · 17/09/2019 20:38

Pretty sure mine would collect from placement in first picture and would guarantee they would pick up from the blue crosses.

Amanduh · 17/09/2019 20:40

Nope, it’s not out.

Smoothyloopy · 17/09/2019 20:41

Our bin men would have taken it

Hoppinggreen · 17/09/2019 20:41

Here they won’t set foot on your property to get the bin so it has to be completely off the drive, that bin is still on the driveway

Walnutwhipster · 17/09/2019 20:46

Mine is positioned exactly the same on bin day, just outside the drive. Never had a problem with collections and it doesn't block the path.
