...to use someone's wheelie bin for dog shit if it's been left out for ages?

Our bins were collected last Thursday.

Some houses regularly leave their bins in the street or back alley.

If my dog has inconveniently shat, I'll use these bins to dump the poo if I pass them.

My take on this is that if people were bothered about random strangers using their bins, they'd take them in like everyone else does and like you're supposed to. If there's a bin hanging around on the around the street I'm going to assume its for public use Wink

My neighbour (who does collect his bins in like me) was shocked at my blatant use of other people's bins. I think I've gone down in his estimations and, TBH, I wasn't very high up in the first place Grin

Now, clearly the unreasonable people in all of this are the lazy cunts who can't be bothered fetching their bins in. But, aside from them, if we start from the assumption that these lazy fuckers will always keep their bins out... AIBU?

(or the cunt putting the shit in the bun)

Sagradafamiliar · 18/09/2019 07:23

Disgusting. I'm surprised you don't post it through their letterboxes such is your contempt.

AmIThough · 18/09/2019 07:28

I don't know why people are so angry about this. I'd rather you put your dogs poo in my bin than leave it on the street/grass.

Willow2017 · 18/09/2019 09:08

Glad people are ok.with op using their bin.
Maybe she can use it every day for 2 weeks till the bins are emptied again to save her having to carry it home then you can have 14 bags of dog crap in your bin how lovely.
Maybe every other dog walker going past your house can do the same instead of using the proper bins or taking it home for their own bin? Nowt wrong with 25 bags of dog shit filling up your bin when you don't even have a dog is there?😀

NigellaAwesome · 18/09/2019 09:20

gross. Put it in your own bin.

You can try to justify all you want about lazy people not bringing in their bins, but you are still gross and taking the piss.

Hotpinkangel19 · 18/09/2019 09:28

Where are all the dog shit bins???? We don't have these!!!

WhiskersPete · 18/09/2019 09:31

Urghh that is vile behaviour OP. Get a grip.

HappydaysArehere · 18/09/2019 09:40

It’s gross and disgusting to put dog poo in any rubbish bin other than the designated dog poo bins that are in most parks and dog walking
places. If you have a garden space there should be a hole dug to put it in and I believe you can buy containers for the purpose. Those poor dustman and council workers!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 18/09/2019 09:47

It would piss me off as the binmen here only pull the bin bags out of your bin; they don't attach your bin to the lorry and tip the whole lot in. So I'd have to retrieve any random bags of dog shit or whatever that people chuck in my bin and add it to my bin bag on collection. No thanks.

This. It wouldn't be collected here because everything needs to be contained in a bin bag, they wouldn't take it and it'd be in my bin until I put it inside a bin bag, at which point it'd be weeks old.

Take it home. You have no idea why their bins are out, but even if it is that they are just lazy, it doesn't entitle you to use them. Just like you can't use someone's car if they park it like an arsehole.

Fucksandflowers · 18/09/2019 10:00

Unbelievable.

YOU are the lazy cunt here.

I have only two areas to put my wheelie bins:

One provides easier access for burglars to gain entry to my house - hop onto bin, wedge open window, you're in.

The other is away from my house at the front of the garden.

Thanks to lazy, inconconsiderate bastards like you my bins are placed near the house where they are a potential security risk because lazy gits can't be bothered to carry their cans/bottles/dog shit whatever to their own bin or a public bin and surprisingly, I want my own bin left empty for my own waste not filled with other people's...

BusterGonad · 18/09/2019 10:12

I'm not sure why people are saying they'd rather the op use a bin than leave it in a tree, on the pavement etc...you get a dog you take the shit home. It's not someone else's bum or litter. It's simply take YOUR shit home.

BusterGonad · 18/09/2019 10:16

Sorry about the typos!

That's disgusting behaviour, and the gleefulness with which you report going down in your neighbour's estimation is weird. How unpleasant.

user1493494961 · 18/09/2019 10:23

I'm with Team Neighbour, you sound awful.

DowntonCrabby · 18/09/2019 10:32

I judge you as much more anti-social than those who’s bins are out.

altiara · 18/09/2019 10:35

Don’t put dog poo in the bottom of anyone’s bin!! The bag will break when rubbish goes on top. Just put it in your own bin or the dog poo bins.

EmeraldShamrock · 18/09/2019 10:38

If you put dog shit in my bin, I would chase you down the street to return it.
Yabu it is disgusting, not your property.

Whatwillhappentomorrow · 18/09/2019 10:41

Ugh. Someone put their dog poo in my empty bin and it is smeared all over the bottom of my bin. There is a dog poo bin in the park about a further 20 steps away.

Quite frankly I would rather them have left it on the floor. It isn't easy to get dog poo off the inside of a wheelie bin.

I have a constant race to get my bin in before people keep doing it. But seriously you don't always know the struggles people are facing at home or invisible disabilities.

Put your dog poo in a designated bin or your own.

Ringdonna · 18/09/2019 11:19

Don’t see a problem, a bin is a bin.

Fucksandflowers · 18/09/2019 11:33

Don’t see a problem, a bin is a bin

  • Bin men only take bags not loose rubbish which leaves people having to rifle through and pick up stray cans, crisp packets, dog shit 🤢 etc that doesn't belong to them to add to their bin bags.
  • Weight of bin bags can cause dog poo bags flung underneath to rip smearing poo all over the inside of the he became in which is a nightmare to clean off
  • Bagged dog poo can really stink, the bag often does not control the smell!
Go and stick your nose in a designated dog poo bin off you don't believe me. Especially grim if your in a 2 week collection area and the poo was put in the day after bin day.
  • Loose waste, especially things like dog poo attract flies
  • It's not your bin, it's private property.
You wouldn't ride a bike that was left out or drink a bottle of milk left out as mentioned by PP so don't use someone's else's bin.
  • If people are treating private bins as public it leaves less room for your own waste.
Kaddm · 18/09/2019 11:38

Maybe they have nowhere to store the bin and the alley is convenient. You should not just use random people’s bins for your dog shit. That is horrible. Someone might have to clean them. Bagged dog shit still smells, it seems to have a magical ability to permeate anything. You carry your shit with you until you come across a council bin or whatever
Mil and Fil are elderly and people so this to their bin. ☹️

dayslikethese1 · 18/09/2019 12:29

Eurgh YADBU. Half the reason I don't have a dog is so I don't have to deal with dogshit; if you have a dog it's your job to deal with it. Why don't you put it in your own bin?

Maryann1975 · 18/09/2019 12:44

I think YABU to put dog poo in someone else’s bin, especially when they have only just been emptied. The bag won’t keep the smell in and it will stink by the time the bin is emptied again in a couple of weeks time.

However, I did once put an orange peel in someone’s bin, as the bin men were coming up the street to empty the bins. The owner of the bin came out and had a right go at me for using their bin (he must have been watching out of the window). I apologised and gave my defence, that I knew the bin would be emptied in less than 5 minutes and it was only an orange peel. I did wonder if they were hiding something in their bin and they were worried I’d seen something I shouldn’t? But it was their bin.

MegaClutterSlut · 18/09/2019 12:56

As a dog owner, I have to walk past at least 20 bins on bin day with a bag of shit and guess what... I manage put it in my own bin because I'm not a lazy cunt. YABU

GinDaddy · 18/09/2019 13:06

I know @StrikeAPosy you might think you're being really edgy and funny and cool in your OP but you just come across as someone who will put their problems onto everyone else, then abuse them for it if they object.

I mean seriously - go to my DW and try calling her, a mother of two young children, "a lazy cunt" for not taking in our bin if I'm away etc.

I would pay actual money to see the quiet verbal excoriation that would be served up to you.

Seriously; calling people "lazy cunts" and "fuckers" just tells me that you have a huge chip on your shoulder, you know you're wrong, and you know you're being opportunist.

You're basically underwriting a society where people have to hurry out and reclaim their property within minutes , or risk it being misappropriated by bizarre folk who lay claim to it due to the "laziness" of others.

Never mind they may be commuting when they're emptied (that's my experience), or they may be infirm, or they don't actually have to justify or give you a fucking reason... their bins are yours because it's convenient for you.
