...to use someone's wheelie bin for dog shit if it's been left out for ages?

Our bins were collected last Thursday.

Some houses regularly leave their bins in the street or back alley.

If my dog has inconveniently shat, I'll use these bins to dump the poo if I pass them.

My take on this is that if people were bothered about random strangers using their bins, they'd take them in like everyone else does and like you're supposed to. If there's a bin hanging around on the around the street I'm going to assume its for public use Wink

My neighbour (who does collect his bins in like me) was shocked at my blatant use of other people's bins. I think I've gone down in his estimations and, TBH, I wasn't very high up in the first place Grin

Now, clearly the unreasonable people in all of this are the lazy cunts who can't be bothered fetching their bins in. But, aside from them, if we start from the assumption that these lazy fuckers will always keep their bins out... AIBU?

Hoping this isn’t serious. We hang any in between walk poos on the gate and take them to the bin en route. Likewise when they go on walks outside of ditches etc it’s double bagged and carried until we pass the red bin. Almost as bad as those who bag and hang on trees 🤦🏼‍♀️

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 17/09/2019 13:58

I had someone do this just after the bins had been emptied and it was till at the end of my drive. I went to bring it in when I got back from work and saw the bag in there. It had to clear it out and find the dog bins (which are fucking everywhere so there's no excuses for not using them!!) or have it sit there festering for two weeks before the bin was emptied again.

BishBashBoshy · 17/09/2019 14:10

I have no issues with someone throwing in a crisp packet or a pop bottle in the recycling bin as they walk past. I would object to having dog poo thrown in. If I wanted dog poo in my bin, I would have my own dog.

As an aside, I will sometimes put (clean) rubbish in a bin as I'm walking past if there are no public bins about. Is that really bad?

bellabasset · 17/09/2019 14:12

Absolutely disgusting, especially if the bin doesn't get emptied for 2 weeks. It's rank. When I had a dog I emptied it down the toilet and flushed, throwing away the bag.

I have an 18yr old cat who uses a litter tray at night, this is bagged in a nappy bag and then in a small bin, treated with Jeyes dustbinpowder before binning.

Learn courtesy and respect for others.

Willow2017 · 17/09/2019 14:17

If I saw you doing that in my bin I would throw it straight back at you! It's not a public bin ffs. Don't be a lazy selfish git and take your shit home with you. You are the lazy one not anyone else its none of your business what people do with thier bins! Your dog yours to.deal with. I don't want shit festering in.my bin for 2 weeks!

At least we pick it up
And? You want a medal or something? Your dog you pick up
simple as that. I don't have bins to.service your laziness!

Christ people are getting more selfish and entitled by the year.

RavenLG · 17/09/2019 14:33

On the list of things to give a shit (pun not intended) about, I couldn’t get worked up about this.

Buddytheelf85 · 17/09/2019 15:12

There are people who do that round here. We keep our bins on a small path leading to our back gate, so they are on our property but still accessible from the pavement.

We have three bins - brown for garden, black for refuse, green for recycling. Like everyone else in the area.

I could get over the trespassing on my property and the use of my bin if they put the shit in the correct bin (refuse). But what drives me nuts is that the lazy fuckers out it in the nearest one - often garden or recycling. Which means I’ve got to fish it out so it doesn’t go off with the recycling or garden waste. If it’s been in there for a while before I’ve noticed, I’ll often need to rinse the bin out too.

Anyway, YABVVVU. And I don’t think you get to call other people ‘lazy fuckers’ for not bringing their bins in when you can’t be arsed to carry a bag of poo back to your own bin (you clearly live pretty close to them to be so confident that they’re not disabled). Or to the nearest dog poo bin. Seriously.

And I’m a dog owner too by the way.

Waffleswaffles · 17/09/2019 15:17

It's not your bin to put poo in.
If someone left their bike outside would it be ok for you to go for a ride on it?
If someone's left their milk on the doorstep is it ok for you to have a drink out of their bottle?

Roozy123 · 17/09/2019 15:23

Use your own bin. Or a dog shit bin. Not a randoms neighbours, so what they don't take their bin in!? You're the one doing worse and slinging dog shit in other peoples bins... you call them a lazy fucker you are for not disposing of YOUR dogs shit properly.

lemmein · 17/09/2019 20:28

I've done this before - I didn't realise it was such a massive no-no Blush

It was first thing in the morning, the bins were out waiting to be collected -I had a bag of dog shit, no public bins near so I popped it in one of the bins waiting to be emptied. Mentioned it to my friend and she was like Shock

Really didn't think it was an issue, it wouldn't bother me if someone put bagged dog poo in my bin - but my friends reaction stopped me from doing it again incase I offended the bin owner. Ya live and learn!

Ohflippineck · 17/09/2019 20:30

We have a dog: I’m seriously pissed off when someone else puts their bag in our empty bin. If we don’t notice when we take it in it sits there for 2 weeks. Rank.
Use your own bin.

dowehaveastalker · 17/09/2019 20:30

Wtf - you’re being disgusting!!! And I sad this as a dog owner. Throw the shit in your own bin!!!

Jenniferturkington · 17/09/2019 20:33

I don’t think yabu. It all goes to the same bin lorry. As long as it’s bagged it shouldn’t stink so it wouldn’t worry me too much.

MrGsFancyNewVagina · 17/09/2019 20:34

That’s fucking disgusting and I run my own dog sitting business. Some dirty bastard put their bag in my bin and I didn’t realise until it was emptied. I probably put the bag out in the dark, as usual. The bag had split with the weight of the rubbish and my bin had shit all over the bottom of it. Dirty filthy scumbags.

MaybeitsMaybelline · 17/09/2019 20:38

Are you joking? Take it home you lazy bitch and put it in your bin to stink.

carly2803 · 17/09/2019 20:39

i have dogs. i still wouldnt use someone elses bin for their shit!!

thats grim!!

vintanner · 17/09/2019 20:44

I would never do that, always take it and put in my own bin if there isn't a designated dog poo bin around.

YABVU and disgusting and you know it.

cushioncovers · 17/09/2019 21:02

Wouldn't bother me as long as it was bagged.

DifficultSituation19 · 17/09/2019 21:05

YABU. I don’t get my bin in as it would mean dragging it up steps, and then down again when full. Nor do any of my neighbours. Don’t be grim.

Elllicam · 17/09/2019 21:11

Yuck that is horrible. I sometimes don’t get my bin in straight away as I have young kids and I don’t like leaving them in the house alone. I would be really disgusted if someone was leaving literal shit in my bin. Use your own bin.

sanityisamyth · 17/09/2019 21:22

Your dog.
Its shit.
Your bin.

End of.

Lolwhat · 17/09/2019 21:27

I don’t put our bin round the back because I’m disabled but that doesn’t mean you can use it. Use your own bloody bin cheeky cow

Maelwaedd · 17/09/2019 21:57

Wouldn't bother me. I'd much rather the poo was in my bin than left on the street. Same with litter. A bin is for rubbish as far as I'm concerned. I don't think there is anyone judging me on the contents of my bin and I wouldn't care if they were.

Bobthefishermanswife · 17/09/2019 22:01

Wouldn't bother me, you're being responsible and clearing up after your dog.
However, one of my neighbours had a go at me a few months back for using the communal bins across the road as they are for the flats exclusively (I live in a house) apparently a tiny bag of poo from a miniature dog will take up A LOT of space in these bins 🤔 I'd understand if it was my kitchen waste...

Ticklemeelmo · 18/09/2019 05:57

Gross

They probably don't bring their bins in much because they now stink of your dog's poo Hmm
