Yes, that Raw Story article by David Cay Johnston is exactly what I'd expect.
Trump has never understood that President is a job, not a title, and really has never understood that it's different from absolute king. "President" actually comes with a lot more restrictions than being head of tinpot private companies that don't follow laws anyway and get bailed out or escaped from through bankruptcy.
Worryingly, in a recent TV documentary on the Tory party, people described Boris Johnston as very similar. That he doesn't want to DO something, he just wants to BE something. And that he'll promise all sorts to be popular but when charm doesn't get him what he wants, he thrashes round and breaks things.
They're both very dangerous when it's all going tits up, because all they care about is self-preservation – particularly preserving their self-image.
That's not reason not to remove them, of course, as:
- they're dangerous in office, too
- things going tits up is inevitable: better to have it over with quickly
