From back in Decemeber:

'This shouldn’t get lost in the avalanche of crazy. The wall we need is between DOJ and the White House. The foundation of our democracy- the rule of law- depends on it.' Sally Q. Yates.

I'm sure his 'twitter-finger' is just itching to beat the band.

"Insult Obama or rant about the witch hunt? Insult Obama or rant about the witch hunt? I know!!! I'll do BOTH!!!"

The orange leopard doesn't change his spots.

Trump's campaign already owes over 1 million dollars to 12 cities.

I saw Ms Maddow deal with this prior to her interview of HRC.

Someone upthread made mention of Obama's contribution to Cummings' eulogy. Here it is;

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/oct/25/facebook-breitbart-news-tab-alt-right

'Facebook’s launch of a new section on its flagship app dedicated to “deeply-reported and well-sourced” journalism sparked immediate controversy on Friday over the inclusion of Breitbart News, a publication whose former executive chairman explicitly embraced the “alt-right”.'

Walter Shaub (previous Head of Ethics, resigned early on after tRump took power) has written a very interesting twitter thread, setting out all his misdemeanours, handily put together in this link.... worth reading...

threadreaderapp.com/thread/1187715081691373569.html

'People in positions of power defending Trump are focused on process instead of substance because they know his actions are indefensible. Rather than risking a short-term political defeat, these anti-patriots wage war on democracy itself. We are in dangerous territory'

Obama's just brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for that link, cozie.

I needed a fillip like that this Saturday morning.

Cummings' forebears picked strawberries - my grandfather also. I recall him telling me that they had to whistle all the time - to ensure they weren't eating them.

Sad

Some shaky ground here:

www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/10/donald-trump-has-senate-problem/600724/

'On Thursday, Graham announced that he’d put forward a resolution condemning the House impeachment inquiry. By mid-afternoon, when he actually announced it, the resolution had been watered down to a plea for a different and more transparent process, apparently a sop to GOP senators unwilling to go quite that far. And yet by Friday morning, only 44 of 53 Republicans in the Senate had signed on to the resolution. A gesture meant to be a show of solidarity by senators has instead become a sign of the weakness of the president’s position.'

Well, We're in the midst of a Public Safety Power Shutdown, so no electricity for the next 48 hours. They shut down the lines to prevent wildfires as many lines here run through heavily forested areas and they don't keep the trees trimmed as they should. Luckily we have a generator so we're sort of OK. Doesn't power everything, but we can keep the important things going.

Looks like the impeachment noose is tightening with more and more incriminating info coming out. And I'm sure there's much more than we've been told about.

All the 'King's' horses and all the 'Kings' men, etc etc.

PerkingFaintly · 27/10/2019 15:14

Across, I've been watching the wildfire news and thinking of you all.

Very glad to hear you have a generator.

cozietoesie · 27/10/2019 15:23

Keep the freezer shut.
