WIBU to buy 7 of the same jumper

I picked a jumper up in town on Friday and wore it to work today and I am OBSESSED with it.

It's so soft and cosy and warm but not bulky. It's plain enough to go with anything but has a small amount of shoulder and sleeve detailing in exactly my style. It's the perfect length, it's slimming.

It's perfect for work and would also look dressy with some skinny jeans and heeled boots for an evening out.

WIBU to buy 3 more in one colour (so 4 all together) and two in a different colour or have I completely lost my mind??

I have basically found the perfect jumper and I never want to wear anything else.

Not suitable for work.

Eh? I work for a massive corporate and in 2019 it would be overdressed in my office. When I go into the office that is, in a major northern city.

The rest of the time it is PJs in front of the Laptop.

timshelthechoice · 16/09/2019 19:08

I have 6 Uniqglo jumpers of the same style in different colours. I need a few more.

Smelborp · 16/09/2019 19:08

Do it.

gingersausage · 16/09/2019 19:09

@gowgow why do you think anyone would be interested enough in you to care? And why on earth would a jumper need washing after every wear anyway? There’s no wonder the planet is fucked.

Gingerkittykat · 16/09/2019 19:19

Go for it, I had been scanning Ebay for a replacement for my perfect top which I bought years ago and eventually found one last night.

I have a pair of shoes which I bought years ago which I also scan Ebay for, and there is a perfect dress which I now wish I had bought in more than one colour which I search for.

Far better to buy multiples when they are available in the shops.

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 16/09/2019 19:20

It looks quite pretty but don't you find viscose terribly sweaty?

DefinatelyAWeeGobshite · 16/09/2019 19:23

Ooh lovely jumper!

I found a brand of tights I like and bought 10 pairs! I’m also on the hunt for dresses as I’m sick of jeans and found some I like, bought 8 dresses with only slight differences Grin love them.

Boysey45 · 16/09/2019 19:25

If you like it and you have the money you can buy as many as you want. Looks nice enough for a black top.

Bananalanacake · 16/09/2019 19:29

Gingersausage: I was going to say the same but I think Gowgow is being sarcy. I wear the same jumper for over 2 weeks before I wash it. it's not next to the skin so doesn't get sweaty.

Sneezewitch · 16/09/2019 19:30

Grin at carpe cardi

Goingonagondola · 16/09/2019 19:32

I found a brand of tights I like and bought 10 pairs!

Are they Snag tights? I'm obsessed with them at the moment. I only have two pairs so far but I literally can't wear any others now.

justasking111 · 16/09/2019 19:33

Very pretty I can see why you are so pleased.

SarcySue · 16/09/2019 19:37

Bottom line, you don't need to explain yourself to anyone.

If you love it, buy as many as you like 😄

Thankfully, it's a free country

Samaranian · 16/09/2019 19:40

Carpe cardi 😁😁

Thankfully I'm not a very sweaty person so no worried there.

Ill go for a shower shortly and just give the jumper a wee sprintz of fabreeze and hang it back in the wardrobe... Same as my skirt. If I washed everything everytime I wore it I'd never stop doing washing!

I'm happy I've got two of each now so now I'm on the hunt for some nice boots to wear with black skinny jeans for my birthday soon! (i will only buy one pair of boots, honest!)

Always buy multiples of something you really like. You’ll never be able to buy it again.

Biancadelrioisback · 16/09/2019 20:06

Oh wow! I finally got the link, opened it and ..
... I'm wearing the same one!!! But the burgundy one :)

YouJustDoYou · 16/09/2019 20:15

I've not done this and regreted it severely when it wore through and was sold out everywhere. It wasn't even anything fancy, just an H&M jumoer, but I loved it so much. Since then, I always if possible buy at least three if I love it, haha.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 16/09/2019 20:23

I haven't ever bought 7 but I've regularly bought 3 or 4 in different colours. There was a really good dress and I got it in 2 colours, talked myself out of buying the other 2 then regretted it when they were out of stock 2 weeks later :(

Fozzleyplum · 16/09/2019 20:29

YAdefinitelyNBU. I have an indeterminate (more than 10) number of my favourite jumper- all the same style, but different colours, with 2 colours duplicated. Mine is a slim fit, long in the body, cashmere roll/ cowl neck by Brora. I get them in the sale or on eBay, as they are very expensive if full price. Gawd help me if they ever discontinue that style.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 16/09/2019 20:39

I have 6 pairs of the same jeans - 2 each in three colours. They were the perfect fit and heavily discounted so I bought lots.

And god knows how many H&M vests I own, they got me through years of breastfeeding and are still going strong

Don’t think i’d buy so many of something that isn’t a basic though, i’d Rather have a bit of variety, and things that seem timeless at the time have a habit of looking dated.

CharityConundrum · 16/09/2019 23:06

I just took an order which was exactly the same as the last order from the same place! I now have 2 each of three different styles of t-shirt and 2 matching cardigans. I hate shopping and am not hugely interested in clothes (everything that came today was blue!) so when I find something I like I save myself the hassle of trying more stuff on and just buy as many as seems appropriate!

Time40 · 16/09/2019 23:13

Go for it - always!

Weirdly, 7 is the maximum I've ever bought of (um... quite a few) much-loved items.

I'm kicking myself very hard for getting only 7 of a particular pair of summer shoes ... should have gone for 20.

Purpleartichoke · 16/09/2019 23:21

Almost all of my husband’s clothing is simply a single item he has purchased in multiples. Occasionally he throws in some color variation.

My mom was similar. 7 of the same top, 7 of the same bottom, but she at least selected from the entire rainbow.

I have several other of the same dress in different colors..

francienolan · 16/09/2019 23:32

Yanbu.

There's a company I love which often does different prints and colors of the same shape of dress or blouse. I have 9 of my favorite dress, 5 of my second favorite, and similar for blouses. I only ever needed to find a couple things that suited me and then get new colors as they come out!

Sceptre86 · 16/09/2019 23:40

I like it!
