My child wants to be a pain au chocolat - is this normal?

He is two.

He wants to be a food stuff - such as a pain au chocolat, stew or cake.

We were baking pain earlier and he proceeded to put his soft toy turtle into the pastry and said he wanted to be in the pastry too and get warmed up in the oven.

Am I raising a strange child or is this normal? 😂🐢🥐

That particular Tom kitten story isn't about food Hmm

Love the stories here!

To clarify, the pain au chocolat was made from fresh. I have too much time on my hands. Wink

My son had an apple core in his bedroom for ages. I also found a small bowl of soup with a stick of bread stuck in it - it was green and about to take off and move around the house!

Kids are marvellous.

Totally normal and very cute! DD(8) has always spent about 70% of her time being a tiger. DS(3) up until recently wanted to be a hoover and used to cry because he "doesn't have a hoover pipe".

Rachelover60 I also had a best friend that was a branch . I insisted on bringing it home from a walk one day, it was so big it stuck out the car window. Once home it stood by the back door where I chatted to it and watered it for a whole summer. Mind you one Christmas I asked for my present to be a trip down a road I'd driven past many times but never gone down. It was a completely nondescript lane in a bend on a country lane. On Christmas Day my dad put me in the car and drove me to the lane where he'd made a little sign that said myname lane.

22dontforget that is absolutely adorable. What a great dad!

Mine is 11 and frequently says she is a chicken nugget. Kids are just weird!

SecretWitch · 17/09/2019 16:09

Totally normal. My youngest desperately wanted to be a Stop Sign.

Oh dear

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 17/09/2019 16:14

Providing he is wrapped in gluten free pastry with sustainable sourced, fair trade chocolate, I don't think it's an issue?

NavyBlueHue · 17/09/2019 16:16

My nephew wanted to be a door handle for a while 🤷‍♀️
