Leave at 8. Back between 5-5:30.

Fucket · 13/09/2019 19:31

I leave house at 0750, drop kids at BC for 0805, get to work at 0815. I finish at 1300, spend 20 sodding minutes trying to cajole my 3 year old to leave preschool (same site where I work) and into the car. Back home by 1330. After commuting from West Ruislip to Bank on the central line for many, many years I am very much cherishing my part-time job and commute. When the kids go to secondary school I will bike to work, but I can’t walk them to school at moment as the main road has no pavement.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/09/2019 19:37

I WFH on the days I have DS as it was impossible to do the after school routine. The two nights I don’t have him I leave at 7:45am and get home at 7pm, working hours are 9-5:30. He’s 6.

feelingdizzy · 13/09/2019 19:40

I leave house about 7.30 am home 5 / 5.30 do some later days or work from home.

PleaseSirMyGoat · 13/09/2019 19:41

I leave at 7, get to work at 7:45. Finish at 4 and get home around 5:30, using public transport. I do this 3 days a week, then we swap and DP does 3 days. We have a 1yo, so whoever isn't working looks after him.

Talcott2007 · 13/09/2019 19:42

Current role is 30hrs with a pattern working 1day @ 4.5hrs 3 days @ 8.5hrs to fit around an afternoon activity that preschool DD attends currently but they are also totally flexible about wfh if needed and start/finish times as long as the work I need to do is done. My pattern may change when DD goes to school in Sept 2020. The office is a 10mins walk from my house and a further 10mins walk to DD's nursery. I appreciate every day how lucky I am with this one.

Previous X number of jobs - 4hrs commuting per day in London plus long hours averaging 10hrs plus outside the house.

SadOtter · 13/09/2019 19:47

I leave the house at 7am, generally get home about 5, sometimes as late as 7. DC are 10 and 15, but I work at the youngest's school so am only actually away from them from 8.30 - 3.15.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 13/09/2019 19:53

Leave home at 8.45, arrive for 9am
Leave work at 4.30, arrive back home around 4.50pm ish depending on traffic.

unicornsandmermaids · 13/09/2019 19:58

Forgot to mention that's 6 days a week and I have 3 kids 7 year old twins and a 5 year old

Unhomme · 13/09/2019 20:17

Leave at 0630 and back at 2100.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 13/09/2019 20:20

Leave at 7 40am back home 5.40pm ish rubbish pay but its term time only. No children.

Jeremybearimybaby · 13/09/2019 20:34

Leave home at 8.50, home by 5.10, kids are teenagers, and i live close to my work. Decent money, but I sacrifice a lot to live in an extremely rural location. Quality of life versus access to amenities. Good when the DC were younger, but as they get older, I'd like to move back to somewhere bigger.

Chronicallymothering · 13/09/2019 21:23

3 days a week, leave at 6:35 back at 8pm

Kids are 9 and 5.

elQuintoConyo · 13/09/2019 21:41

Leave at 3pm, home by 9pm. I work 3.30-8.45.
20 minute walk to work.
One DS age 8.
I take him to school, 2 minute walk, or stay in bed and DH takes him. DH works from home, so collects him from school and goes to activities.

MontanaSky · 13/09/2019 21:49

doublebarrellednurse · 13/09/2019 21:51

Leave at 8.30am
Home around 1715 on a good day

13 year old and in utero

BelindasGleeTeam · 13/09/2019 21:58

Lave at 6:45am, get to work by 7:10. I try and get out of school by 4:40 to pick kids up at 5pm. They're 10 and 6.

Normally do an hour's or two after they're in bed too. So that's a 10 hour day most days.

It's 4 days a week, my day off is my sanity saver.

theSnuffster · 13/09/2019 22:43

Leave at 8.30, drive the kids to school and go straight on to work. Get home at 2.45 and walk to school to collect them.

Celeriacacaca · 13/09/2019 22:54

Leave 7.50, start 8am. Leave 4pm, home by 4.10pm. Two Dcs 17 and 16.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 13/09/2019 22:55

Leave at 7.50am, return home any time between 5.30 and 6.30pm.

2dc (4 and 7).

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2019 23:01

Leave 6.45am and back at about 6.20pm. Kids are 5 and 6. Have done this since DC1 was 8 months.

MidniteScribbler · 13/09/2019 23:11

Leave home at about 7:15. Three minutes to work. Two days a week I leave around 4:45, other days I'm usually gone by 4. I work through recess and lunch, and then usually do another hour after DS in bed, plus a handful of hours on the weekends and a fair bit on the holidays. DS is 7 and comes to school with me.

DramaAlpaca · 13/09/2019 23:15

I leave at 9.20 for a 9.30 start, pop home for lunch & am usually home for the evening around 6. My DC are grown up now.

catgirl1976 · 13/09/2019 23:39

Get up half six, get DS ready for school. Leave half seven. Work. Get home half six and either do dinner, housework, homework bath and story for DS or beavers or swimming as well. Get my stuff ready for work. Sometimes do a bit of work. Eat dinner about nine, bed about eleven and repeat.

Indie139 · 14/09/2019 14:14

I live 5 mins from my daughters school and 10 mins from work. Usually leave out at 8.45..school run then start work at 9. Finish at 6. Usually home by 6.30. So on average a total of 9hr45 mins. I have 1 child who is 9yrs old
