I work flexi time so on a typical day(when I go to work) I leave home between 8 and 8.30, do around 5 or 6 hours in the office then home for between 3 and 3.30.
DS is 14

eurochick · 13/09/2019 11:24

Most days I leave at 8am. I'm back around 6:45pm on a good day.

Full time.

One five year old.

I found it tough when she was a baby. It's a bit easier now.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 13/09/2019 11:40

Before going on mat leave I left home at 8am for the nursery drop-off on the way to work and then home at about 6 having picked up on the way back.
DS is 2.5, will be 3 when I go back along with 9 month old DD.

FrauHaribo · 13/09/2019 11:49

I leave home around 7:30, come back anytime between 7:30 and 9:30pm.

I do try to squeeze all my meetings on the same days so I can work from home as much as possible - and don't wast so much time on commute. Plus DH travels away quite a lot, so it's a bit of pain with the kids.

VapeVamp12 · 13/09/2019 12:02

I leave at 6:55am and usually get home about 6pm depending on M25 traffic.

Expecting my first baby so no kids as yet.

fiorentina · 13/09/2019 12:09

Currently nightshift so leave the house at 5.40pm, back at 08.10am.

Kids are older teens.

On dayshift I leave at 05.50am, home at 20.20ish.

NoWayNoHow · 13/09/2019 12:22

DS nearly 12. I leave house 7.40am and get home 5.30pm.

notacooldad · 13/09/2019 12:24

We work148 hours a month. (some weeks maybe 30 hrs another week 41 for example) we have 3 days off a week. Our shifts vary so much and have no set pattern but we get our rotas up to 2 months in advance.( we can swop and change if needed.
It takes me 15 mins at peak time to drive there. Off peak it is less than 10mins.

mockorangey · 13/09/2019 12:29

Leave at 7.45am and get back at 5.40pm on nursery days - 2 days per week.

Leave at 8am and back 5.15pm on grandparent-days - 2 days per week.

DC are 5 and almost 2 and work is a 30 min commute (not including nursery drop-off/pickup). The routine seems to be fine for now. Can be a be rushed getting out of the door in nursery days, and there isn't loads of time in the evenings, but DC seem to be ok eating at 6-6.30pm these days so that's ok. When the youngest DC was 12 months and had just started nursery, the nursery days were definitely too long for her, and me.

PuffHuffle5 · 13/09/2019 12:32

I work out of the house three days a week, and also do about 2 or 3 hours from home. We leave at 7.15 and get home at about 5.40.

NorthEndGal · 13/09/2019 12:36

I'm a beachcomber artist, so it depends. My studio is at home, so some days there is zero commute, other days I may put in 20 straight hours (like last week) to go to a beach that's 100s of km away to comb, and be back to same day.
Some days I only work for an hour or two, some days I put in 7 or 8 hours.
So it varies wildly, but on average, my whole work day is about 5 hours

MinnieMountain · 13/09/2019 12:36

I'm out 8.30am to 17.45 including drop off/pick up. I drop DS at school then it's a 10 minute bike ride.
DH is out 7.00-18.30ish when he commutes.
DS is 5.

GlasshouseStoneThrower · 13/09/2019 13:01

Leave at 7.30, back between 6.30 and 7.30 depending on busyness.
