Tbh I don't know if this is actually called a pregnancy assessment unit. The equivalent at my normal hospital is called that. It's the hospital clinic where you come to get scans in pregnancy, see consultants etc.

It's tacky. I wonder who suggested mermaids & why. Odd choice. Was someone's mate an amateur mural artist & it was a mates rates 'bargain'?

It's brought up all sorts of questions in my mind - how do mermaids go to the toilet is obviously one (is it similar to what a goldfish produces ?) and what do mermaids eat - it can't be fish(cannabalism) it can't be plankton or krill (they'd need a big gaping mouth like a basking shark) do they eat algae ?

The one on the right is based on a photo I've seen online of Nicki Minaj. A lot of her photos really border on porn, so it's an odd choice for inspiration in a pregnancy unit. Also, the choice of females lacking nether regions is odd. I'd think it was done by either a male, or a young female who hasn't come to terms with the reality of childbirth 😂

Not appropriate. The only vaguely appropriate element is the arch, which might represent a vagina. Though given the lack of thought that's gone into the rest of the imagery I doubt it was intended.

I quite like it, it's better than the wall of leaflets at my hospital.
