Geoffrey Boycott

Agree 100% OP

niceberg · 10/09/2019 09:50

God no, YANBU.

ohfourfoxache · 10/09/2019 09:52

Another stunningly wise decision from Theresa Hmm

TheAlternativeTentacle · 10/09/2019 09:53

Nothing about that woman would surprise me.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 10/09/2019 09:54

And his response...

I don’t care a toss about her, love

Tells us all we need to know about this man.

HavelockVetinari · 10/09/2019 09:55

YANBU. How disappointing. He sounds like a right knob in the interview.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 10/09/2019 09:57

Also worth remembering that we have a PM who uses feminine terms as a form of insult, girly swot and big girl's blouse.

Vote Conservative. We think you're weaker than us.

GinisLife · 10/09/2019 10:01

I don't know either of them but her story never stacked up if you believe what you read. I don't think he did anything even though he was convicted but that's only my opinion.

MsLumley · 10/09/2019 10:15

Completely agree OP. The man is arrogant in the extreme. Not in itself a crime of course but I have no trouble whatsoever believing he was guilty.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 10/09/2019 10:23

I agree GinisLife, having read about it her story doesn't add up.

He's not my favourite commentator but I don't begrudge him his knighthood.

Okurrrrrrrr · 10/09/2019 11:01

YANBU Sad

DopeyDazy · 10/09/2019 11:15

im more worried about the tory treasurer with a dubious background getting one, looks like mobey can buy anything

HermioneWeasley · 10/09/2019 11:17

Of course he shouldn’t, but the “honours” list is spectacularly misnamed

Infinite My apologies. I'd forgotten than she'd slipped.

In the same way that Steve Biko slipped.

He was the victim of blackmail and a French justice system whereby you have to prove your innocence rather than our system where guilt has to be proved.

Don't forget the doctor who examined her and testified that Boycott had to be lying based on the medical evidence- they must have been in on it too. The retrial judge (because Geoff had heroically fled the country) and the appeal judge must both have been in on it.

She must have fallen really awkwardly on that carpet (during the violent altercation which was witnessed and admitted to) to sustain a black eye and a point impact bruise to the other side of her forehead.

YANBU OP

Ginfordinner · 10/09/2019 12:27

I have met him. He is breathtakingly rude and arrogant in RL. He doesn't deserve a knighthood.

MikeyTheMouse · 10/09/2019 12:28

YANBU, he definitely doesn’t deserve it

donquixotedelamancha · 10/09/2019 12:28

Christ, that picture on the BBC report. I'd forgotten how bad it was. How the fuck do you give someone who does that a knighthood?

DontFeedTheCatCake · 10/09/2019 13:21

Why has Mumsnet become a place where, based on no evidence whatever, domestic violence is defended or excused, even when someone has been found guilty? Twice.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/09/2019 13:50

How to make women in violent relationships feel even less safe? Start giving domestic abusers knighthoods. Yes the state really cares Hmm

Usernumbers1234 · 10/09/2019 13:56

@DontFeedTheCatCake

Twice? I’m not seeing anything other than the french case.

Usernumbers1234 · 10/09/2019 13:59

@DontFeedTheCatCake

Doh, ignore me - I see it now, two trials

TheQueef · 10/09/2019 14:00

Arrogant, cocky, racist twat shouldn't get it for cricket either.
I can't lie his test batting was poetry to watch but the man is such a prick it cancels out.

(And we expelled him from being a yorkshireman when we threw Jeremy Clarkson out.
