^What it is really.
Are you a mum/dad? Do you go by your first name? Or are you a pack leader?
We recently got a pet dog, and my kids think it's weird that the dog 'calls' dh and I mum and dad.

Food girl.

Our small dog is Scottish and refers to people as 'pal'. So I'm Mum Pal, DH is Dad Pal, and the rest of the family are on first name terms (pal).

AsahiGo · 09/09/2019 16:27

@GenuineKlatchianPottery very, cute! Looks like a bit of a smug smile too?

There's a lot of MNers owned by sassy cats!

Cat 1 we are “slave”
Cat 2 feed me.
Dog. Mummy and daddy.
@AsahiGo you know the pack leader thing has been thoroughly debunked though right?

AsahiGo · 09/09/2019 16:31

Yup, I've never bought into it. Still used though... Including a trainer who I contacted, who only refers to himself as 'alpha' around the dogs and owners.

My OH recently (when a few beers deep) asked if he could be daddy to my dog yet. I'm not so sure about it Hmm

Wolfiefan · 09/09/2019 16:33

I hope you ran far far away from that eejit. Shock

Boswellisdead · 09/09/2019 16:33

Cat 1: YOU AGAIN
Cat 2: Bringer of Food

5weetjane · 09/09/2019 16:34

The cat would refer to me as his trap queen or something equally as horrible. He likes to carefully watch me eat and sleep so I am a healthy human in order to serve him. He's a sinister bastard.

Isleepinahedgefund · 09/09/2019 16:35

My rat calls me "I'm hungry" or "sod off or I'll bite you", depending on the time of day. She's such a friendly little soul!

AsahiGo · 09/09/2019 16:36

@Isleepinahedgefund - I love rats! My rats used to call me 'urgh'

OP posts:
HepKestrel · 09/09/2019 16:41

I am "she who feeds me"
my partner is "cat bed #5" (Cat likes his lap, not mine).

ArabellaDoreenFig · 09/09/2019 16:44

My cat speaks in the same voice as Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and me and DH are interchangeably called ‘peasant’ and ‘other peasant’.

WilburIsSomePig · 09/09/2019 16:44

DDog calls me Mrs Wonderful Wonderson because I am his favourite human and I can do no wrong. The cat is trying to kill me anyway so I don't think he calls me anything apart from Twat.

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 09/09/2019 16:46

The cats voice depends on who is helping her speak...

I am a grown up, I promise.

My cat sounds like she says mum so I'm going with that, had her from 6 weeks and she is 10 now

BarkandCheese · 09/09/2019 16:48

To my dog I’m “mummymummymummy” when she’s excited or wants something and “mumnoooo” when I’m trying to brush her or rouse her from a nap to go for a walk.

EerieSilence · 09/09/2019 16:48

Sucker

Diagonalli · 09/09/2019 16:49

my cat calls us mummy & daddy & DSS is him

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 09/09/2019 16:51

@AsahiGo
Yep. Definitely the smuggest cat I’ve ever known

BarkandCheese · 09/09/2019 16:52

My dog’s voice is that of a petulant yet imperious four year old. We call her Princess Widdle, not so much the princess and the pea, more the princess who did a pee (on the rug).

Bunnybigears · 09/09/2019 16:54

My 3 cats and 1 dog have Hoom who is DH Hoom Who Feeds Us which is me, Small Hoom which is DS2 and Smelly Grumpy Hoom who is DS1 (you can tell he is a teenager!)

KatherineJaneway · 09/09/2019 16:58

I'm Mummy to my cats although when one of them shouts the tone is definitely 'Oi you, I'm hungry!'

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 09/09/2019 16:58

Poo slave Blush
DH is play slave and food slave
DD is Fuss slave
The dog is happy with that.

Livebythecoast · 09/09/2019 17:01

My ragdoll cat knows she is beautiful. She has an air of 'my shit don't stink' ( it really does though)
When I get home from work she's like 'oh mummy dearest, how lovely to see you '.
Once she's eaten she's like 'oi, bitch, shouldn't you go back to work'?'.
Her potty mouth doesn't match her majestic looks
