As I am struggling to see how anyone could be more dangerous that Boris and his awful cabinet.

Because those of us who are old enough to have experience the chaos of the winter of discontent in the 70s fear the result of extreme left wing politics

TheBigBallOfOil · 03/09/2019 17:44

Why do people keep saying that? It’s total bollocks.
Have we had an influx of labour shills again, given we may be in election season soon? I really noticed them last time round, insulting everyone’s intelligence with gay abandon

NoBaggyPants · 03/09/2019 17:44

Big companies will see their value plunge.

No, the value of companies will remain the same. What will change is who owns the big companies. Workers will be given share rights and representation at board level. Most of us are workers, at all different levels, and would value the opportunity to contribute to the running and the prosperity of our companies.

TheBigBallOfOil · 03/09/2019 17:45

But would the companies value you?

NoBaggyPants · 03/09/2019 17:46

Looking at Labour's last manifesto, I wonder which you consider to be extreme?

nellodee · 03/09/2019 17:46

We already have stronger regulations in place during election and referendum periods. I am not an expert in the legalities of media representation of political parties, but I am quite sure that since these rules work extremely well, its very possible to have impartial regulation.

NoBaggyPants · 03/09/2019 17:47

Why would they not BigBall? Are workers not worthy of a voice?

TheBigBallOfOil · 03/09/2019 17:47

Sigh. I’ll ask again - regulation by whom?
Industry based regulation already exists.

TheBigBallOfOil · 03/09/2019 17:49

Running a large company is quite a hard thing to do. A blanket assumption that all workers would add value to that is just warm words. Some might. Most won’t.

nellodee · 03/09/2019 17:49

What we would have, is a green new deal. I do feel that Labour are quite far more genuine in their pursuit of environmental issues than the Conservatives. Conservatives pay lip service to green issues, but the only green issue than truly concerns them is the almighty dollar.

Bahlindah · 03/09/2019 17:49

I don't like Corbyn. Really wish he'd fuck off for the good of the party and country but yeah, there's a whole load of hysteria.

Also, I do hope that those who are terrified he will implement communism voted remain. As an EU member, the UK could not have become a communist state. Once we leave, all bets are off.

TheBigBallOfOil · 03/09/2019 17:50

Ps - if you feel you have what it takes, there’s lots of organisations out there looking to widen participation at NED level. Why not see if you can get to influence on merit, rather than a leg up from Mr C?

NoBaggyPants · 03/09/2019 17:51

That's why an appropriate representative is nominated. There's no suggestion that everybody is going to sit on the board! But you'll agree that every worker is worthy of some input, yes? And of some reward when their work contributes to an improved position for the company?

Rachelover40 · 03/09/2019 17:51

People cannot comprehend that a thoroughly decent person (not perfect because no one is), like Jeremy Corbyn, can be a politician, we're just not used to it.

jesuschristwtf · 03/09/2019 17:52

He’s a communist. Is that really so hard to understand why that would be bad for this country? He supports terrorists.

Autumnintheair · 03/09/2019 17:52

Usernumbers1234

Totally agree.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 03/09/2019 17:53

There is no bloody alternative.

Clowns to the left... Jokers to the right...

It's all fucked up. We have no politicians worth their salt any more. PR claptrap and spin has destroyed politics. The rise of social media has given people a feeling of control, of importance, as if they can influence anything. And politicians take full advantage of that. Look at how often the "unelected prome minister" tripe gets thrown out there by Corbyn. It's a lie.. repetaed here many times. NO PRIME MINISTER gets elected. Tey get selected by their party. EVERY TIME! And don't forget he graciously offered himself up as sacrifical lamb aka 'unelected prime minister' - and no daft fucker fell for it!

It escapes me, it really does. Some of you can clearly see Johnson for the threat he is but you cannot see Corbyn for what he is! Open your bloody eyes, pray for a general election and DO YOUR JOB PROPERLY! Vote for the person who will do the best for your locale.

The Commons will fuck it all up anyway, so get the best you can for your local area and hope that whatver the Brexit outcome that the truth is they all lied, all the time and no outcme will be as dire as the 'experts' predicted.

And stop picking at it... you can't control it. You can only prepare for it and be ready to react to whatever the outcome!

Most of all remember that ALL politicians have fillibustered the country into this mess. "Oooh we can't agree to No Deal" Well fucking shut up, sit down and work out a bloody deal you can agree to then! That's your job! Not poncing about showing us all how impressive a peacock you are!

Twats, one and all!

[Yes, I do feel a bit better now, thanks]

Autumnintheair · 03/09/2019 17:53

Bridget how interesting that corbyn is middle of road compared to eu!!

The flourishing strong vast super state!!

TheBigBallOfOil · 03/09/2019 17:53

input into what? Reward for what? Performance related remuneration is already widespread.

NoBaggyPants · 03/09/2019 17:53

I look forward to anyone qualifying their "he's a communist" claims!

nellodee · 03/09/2019 17:54

I have no idea who controls the regulation of the BBC. I only know that it is a massive asset to the country and that its unique selling point is advanced by steps taken to ensure impartiality. It is valuable because it is trustworthy. I have a vague understanding that under the most recent Conservative government, it has been somewhat pressurised into curtailing its reporting under threat of defunding. I do not know the details of this, but if it is true, I would like to have those threats removed, whichever party was in control at the time.

Twillow · 03/09/2019 17:54

He’ll destroy Britain, that’s why. He’s a communist. Do you really want a communist running the country?

Actually he's a socialist. Big difference.
He's worked tirelessly in politics since the 80s.
Hence the media seizing on any historically naive choices he may have made. Of course, the vast majority of the media are tory biased, that's undeniable.

What I really DON'T understand is why the Labour Party have picked the very time when they have have had a succession of useless leaders in the Tory party and have a fair chance at taking the reins, to savage Corbyn and accuse him of anti-semitism. The man seems the least likely racist around.

TheBigBallOfOil · 03/09/2019 17:55

“Thoroughly decent.”
Oh, so that’s what laying wreaths for terrorists, endorsing anti Semitic works and using carter fuck the threaten whistleblowers is. I must have missed the memo!

TheBigBallOfOil · 03/09/2019 17:56

Ok the labour shills are definitely back.
There are surely less morally compromised ways of earning money. Selling heroin, or arms to Myanmar? No one needs to sink this low.

noodlenosefraggle · 03/09/2019 17:56

Because both of them want a no deal Brexit. Corbyn can't implement his policies if we are in the EU or even if we have a customs union. If the current Labour leadership end up in control of Brexit negotiations, I don't trust them not to fuck it up either deliberately or accidentally.
