Prince Harry - AIBU?

Prince Harry saying "we can all do better" has really irked me- aibu?! He has every want and need satisfied while the majority of us and trying to do right by the environment whilst making ends meet. He is becoming very sanctimonious!

The coverage she is getting is pretty negative though. Being seen cheering on her celebrity friend in her home country might be seen in a more positive light however. Or I guess she might think so.

MissEliza · 08/09/2019 19:45

I think a lot of comments were made when K and W left George to go to the Maldives. Tbh I wish I'd the opportunity and ability to jet off when mine were babies. I'm not going to judge any mum who is getting a well deserved break.

derxa · 08/09/2019 20:10

scaryteacher I took it as "family of origin", but could be wrong of course ...
yes you're right puzzled

NoTheresa · 08/09/2019 20:28

dim witted spare

It’s a while since he was the latter.

NoTheresa · 08/09/2019 20:30

Yes, what is FOO?

derxa · 08/09/2019 20:35

FOO = family of origin her birth family

MangoFeverDream · 08/09/2019 20:50

I thought it was a Mustique holiday but yeah do recall gnashing of teeth at that decision

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/09/2019 22:36

I think Charles would have to rise to the occasion and prove his worth as King

Good luck with that but I definitely agree that future stupidities may be seen through a different lens when the Queen's no longer here to anchor them all

Personally I'm not remotely bothered about Meghan leaving Archie for a bit, but a pal with an uncanny knack for predicting these things reckons she could well have visited the US for a lot more than a tennis match - as in putting more things in place for a possible move

JazzyGG · 08/09/2019 22:48

I'd been pretty meh about the whole thing and going back new princesses have always had a hard time in the press... Diana, Fergie...

But leaving a 4 month old to go and watch a tennis match in the USA?! Ffs. It's not like she couldn't have taken the baby and an army of helpers. I don't care if he's with his dad, who does that?! Sorry Meghan, you lost me at tennis.

Rachelover60 · 08/09/2019 22:57

and who could blame her? I hope they don't move to the USA though, at least not permanently. They could have a base out there and spend lots of time in the US, a compromise.

Happysummer2020 · 08/09/2019 23:09

Yea, she's setting up her future career in the US. Making contacts, prioritising that over spending time with the Queen. She's not in the Royal family for the long-haul.

Cant really blame her. Imagine joining that when you're in your 30's and a 'fully formed' adult?

Still ... she's happy enough to take the cash and privileges so that's why I question her.

areukiddingme · 08/09/2019 23:16

I am sure your opinion of Prince Harry will keep him up all night.

He's nothing but a spare part on which taxpayer cash should absolutely not be spent. Negative public opinions may not trouble him or his grasping social climber wife at the moment but how long will they be allowed to leech off the taxpayer when the queen is gone and serious momentum builds towards formation of a republic. Don't know about all of you but I deplore any of my hard earned money going to prop up any of this spoiled entitled family.

nononever · 09/09/2019 07:16

Harry never goes to Balmoral, he stopped going as a teenager and it’s unlikely he was even invited considering they must know how much he hates it and that he never goes.

Yes, that is a possibility. I thought now he was married he might change his mind. Maybe they will visit when Archie is older. It's a great place for children to explore with abandon. I'm a bit biased about the place as it's not that far from me and the setting is just stunning. More so when the weather is decent!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/09/2019 07:46

Some very gushing coverage of Meghan at the tennis in the DM. Apparently she is keeping H and A close to her heart by wearing tiny gold dog tags inscribed with their initials. That should satisfy the MPeople.

I truly doubt she's there planning a move to the US. She's in NY, not LA. I'm sure there are plans, but that's not the purpose of this trip. I'm not convinced it will be a permanent move, I predict a "holiday home" which will be used more and more till they are nominally based in the UK but actually living their lives in LA.

BertrandRussell · 09/09/2019 07:52

I don’t understand why people think they are going to move to the States. Mind you, I wouldn’t blame the if they did!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/09/2019 08:18

There have been reports for some time of them buying a property there, Bert, which would make perfect sense so that they could spend time with Doria and Archie could connect with his mother's American life.

BertrandRussell · 09/09/2019 08:28

Ah yes. Good old Emily Andrews!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/09/2019 09:03

Ah yes. Good old Emily Andrews!

Who?

BertrandRussell · 09/09/2019 09:05

The Sun’s Royal Corraepondent. One of Fleet Street’s Finest.

LaMarschallin · 09/09/2019 09:07

Who?

Well quite!
I Googled and apparently she's a journalist writing mainly for the Sun, as far as I can see.

You seem to have got your finger well on the pulse of tabloid journalism about the royals, Bertrand. My compliments, I can't keep up with it all.

BertrandRussell · 09/09/2019 09:15

She’s the source of a lot of the bollocks.

The number of times i’ve had a look to see where the latest “H&M stick pins into a wax image of the queen every full moon” story has come from and there she is. I like to check my sources....

LaMarschallin · 09/09/2019 09:20

I like to check my sources....

But of course. I must try to care more.

(Could you tell me- does it have to be the full moon? And exactly how many pins? Smile)

IrmaFayLear · 09/09/2019 09:21

Again, the biggest frothers about the Daily Mail seem to be its most avid readers...

What would be a bit annoying is if Frogmore House is left abandoned. Remember SouthYork? Andrew and Fergie had this massive great house built in Sunninghill, I think, which they never used.
