To think this is Boris’s worst decision?

He’s moved a rescue pup into number 10, good idea. But it’s a Jack Russell Terrier. AIBU to think this is a dastardly plan to ensure that the Chancellor and all other inhabitants within 100 yards will move out, worn out with the incessant barking?

Bravelurker · 02/09/2019 19:05

And has it met the cat?

ForalltheSaints · 02/09/2019 19:14

No he has made much much worse ones.

Though I think the cat should have been consulted!

There will be worse noises than dog barking!!

Daaps · 02/09/2019 19:16

It’s probably an actor playing a rescue jack Russell.

Daaps · 02/09/2019 19:17

It’s got a look of that one from Gentleman Jack

EssentialHummus · 02/09/2019 19:20

Yeah, if it’s getting to the point where the gov’t is drafting in cute puppies with heart-rending back stories involving Wales, we are really up shit creek without a paddle.

Timeaftertime42 · 02/09/2019 19:37

Nope I'm completely sold now, Boris is clearly a stand up guy if he rescues puppies..... vote leave for me all the way!!! Grin

He’s moved a rescue pup into number 10

Although does he not actually live at number 11? So he's moved the pup into his neighbour's house? Confused

Chloemol · 02/09/2019 19:37

There is nothing wrong with JRTs. Any dog will bark if not trained properly

Pinktulipsarethebest · 02/09/2019 19:39

I'm surprises the charity let him rehome the puppy. They seem a busy couple.

SuzieSunshine · 02/09/2019 20:21

I think the cat will put the puppy firmly in it's place!!

I saw it being carried in through the door of No 10. I suspect that is the only access for deliveries for No 11. There is a connecting internal door between the two houses.
I really think they would have been better to get an adult rescue dog. I can't imagine how they will get on with a puppy crying several times a night and weeing in inappropriate spots. Have they got enough time to give to the puppy, I wonder? Apparently it is OK with cats - not sure about Larry, though.

joystir59 · 02/09/2019 20:45

If it's anything like our JRT it will be heading up the cabinet before long and won't suffer fools gladly. Could only be good for the country imo.

Motherinlawsdung · 02/09/2019 20:48

joystir you make a very good point!

BunchMunch · 02/09/2019 20:48

I love JRTs. Such feisty little dogs, we used to have a miniature one and she'd take anything on.
Boris has gone up in my estimation, especially taking a rescue dog. 🐾

TheCaddyisaBaddie · 02/09/2019 20:51

You are missing the point though - terriers are great at ratting - that is going to be one busy dog with all the rats at no.10

thenightsky · 02/09/2019 21:00

Yes... a keen ratter is perfect for number 10.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 02/09/2019 21:05

What EssentialHummus said.

BrokenBrit · 02/09/2019 21:10

Poor dog.
Dogs, especially rescue puppies, need stability, time, security, patience and training with kindness.
I just can’t see how Johnson is going to provide any of these things, especially at the current time.
It’s a publicity stunt and he should be focusing on the real issues facing him! I hope the pup is treated better, when it inevitably chews and wees on things, than reports told us he treated his girlfriend when she spilt some wine!

MaxNormal · 02/09/2019 21:18

I think announcing that he's going to ignore Parliament is probably a worse decision tbh.

sonjadog · 02/09/2019 21:20

I doubt very much that Boris is going to be responsible for the puppy on a day to day basis. I would have thought the puppy will be actually be someone on the staff's dog.

Shouldbedoing · 02/09/2019 21:22

He's fat too.busy to.to.be taking on.a dog.

MorganKitten · 02/09/2019 21:24

He’s done it to make himself seem nice and caring. Don’t be fooled.

MoltoAgitato · 02/09/2019 21:27

I do think the one thing BoJo (or indeed, any of that lot) could do to instantly lose any and all public support is get caught being mean to animals. Fuck the country is fine, aim a boot at a pup and it’s instant death at the hands of a baying mob.

The pooch is a publicity stunt.

lljkk · 02/09/2019 21:33

BJ IS a dog. Or cur, to be more precise.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 02/09/2019 22:46

It's just a ruse to rebrand a dodgy person as a doggy person.

Jellykat · 02/09/2019 22:55

Putin likes being photographed with dogs too, wonder if thats where BJ got the idea from..
