He’s moved a rescue pup into number 10, good idea. But it’s a Jack Russell Terrier. AIBU to think this is a dastardly plan to ensure that the Chancellor and all other inhabitants within 100 yards will move out, worn out with the incessant barking?

Oh Jellycat if he is emulating Putin can we expect to see him bare chested and riding a horse soon, as Putin did a few years ago? Perhaps there will be a calendar issued, Bare-Chested Despots and Their Dogs?

Just sad to see yet another busy, full time professional getting a little pup yet be totally unable to care for it. Poor wee thing will be passed from security guard to secretary to domestic help to deal with.

I just think the whole thing is so irresponsible. Isn't it a well known fact that a puppy (let alone a rescue puppy) needs lots of time, care, stability?

So now is the worst possible time for BJ to get a new puppy. Yes I'm sure there are staff to help look after it, but it's beside the point.

Absolute publicity stunt, nothing more.

That puppy has a steely glint in its eye. I think it might just be planning a canine takeover.

My hunch is it'll send Boris on extended gardening leave and bring in its pals an English bulldog and a Brussels Griffon to oversee a compromise coalition.

The troika will meet with EU bigwigs and nudge them towards an acceptable arrangement for the UK using a combination of nuzzling up and licking - when pleased - and ankle-biting and peeing on sofas - when displeased.

It could work. Theresa probably didn't use these tactics. And Boris probably won't.
