To Think That Konnie Kuq Should Lead

All those who think that Brexit is a disaster.

Saw her on Jeremy Vine-what passion and lucidity.

Go Konnie and, Mr Corbyn, snap her up right now!

What you saw as passion, I saw as shrill hectoring from someone who doesn't know how to debate or convince neutrals of her argument. It was borderline “switch off” for me, such was the toe curling nature of it

Her family member makes for a wholly credible MP; she should stick to presenting.

HungryHiker · 02/09/2019 14:58

Completely agree with GinDaddy.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 02/09/2019 15:00

I've always liked her in things before, but I thought she came across as patronising and liked the sound of her own voice - seemed to think it was her show rather than that she was one of three guests; or possibly, to be a little charitable, that she somehow thought it was a programme aimed at children.

chocolatemademefat · 02/09/2019 15:04

Way too shrill for me

JamOnTheCarpet · 02/09/2019 15:04

Konnie was a qood childrens tv presenter on blue peter, but is generally awful in everything I've seen her on since.

I can't stand her constant shouting.

OpheliaTodd · 02/09/2019 15:11

Good grief. Shrieking at the top of her voice. No. Had to switch off.

donotcovertheradiator · 02/09/2019 15:37

I didn't hear it as shrieking but rather as an impassioned plea; a last ditch attempt to be heard before we fall over a cliff edge.

She is an intelligent, forceful woman who can use vibrant imagery to make others look at their dangerous stance.

Anyway, I'm peturbed that 'shriek' is so happily applied to the voice of a woman but rarely to a man.

Just watched it.

She sounded a little unhinged and more than a little ranty.

I've seen a few threads on here about celebs shooing their mouths off and then being viewed as international leaders - bonkers.

WeAreStardustWeAreGolden · 02/09/2019 18:51

Is that you Konnie?

Fuckface7 · 02/09/2019 18:54

I never hear men described as "shrill" when they raise their voices to debate something.

She was shouty but I thought she had a good point tbh.

siring1 · 02/09/2019 18:56

Men's voices are deeper and never sound shrill.

Chloemol · 02/09/2019 20:37

If she wants to be taken seriously she needs to learn how to argue a point without a shrill shriek

WhyBirdStop · 02/09/2019 20:39

I know someone who had a dog called Konnie Huq

Evilmorty · 02/09/2019 20:40

No. I met her once at a charity event. No.

Woodlandwitch · 02/09/2019 20:40

Her argument was awful, she sounded crazed and I felt embarrassed for her.

I felt sorry for the people on the panel having to take it and listen to it

Biscuitorcake · 02/09/2019 21:11

No she sounded unhinged and hysterical, and I would say the same if it were a man behaving like that. She made herself look ridiculous with all the talk of chopping people’s heads off. It was embarrassing to watch.

Woodlandwitch · 02/09/2019 21:36

Ofcom received lots of complaints abou tit

GlitchyWitch · 03/09/2019 09:40

What on Earth was she ranting about people getting their heads “chopped off” for?! She sounded about 14 🙄

PooWillyBumBum · 03/09/2019 09:57

No. I met her once at a charity event. No.

Oh right okay you’re the authority then.

I just watched it and had to turn it off after 20 seconds. Can’t bear anyone that shouts in a debate. They were all quite annoying in that respect!

jesuschristwtf · 03/09/2019 10:06

She sounded insane. But yeah, she should lead whatever insane party you want her to. Very credible. 🤦🏻‍♀️ She needs to go back to children’s TV. She can be crazy there.

RosesAndRaindrops · 03/09/2019 10:31

Yabu, unless you want the complaining Remainers (I'm a Remainer but one who thinks they should just get on with it now) to look like they've completely and totally lost it!
All that ranting about chopping heads off..... WTF. Just no lol

mothertruck3r · 03/09/2019 10:33

She came across like a deranged harpie. Absolutely cringe-worthy.

Bloomburger · 03/09/2019 10:42

Yep just what we need a woman in charge who starts shrieking and coming out with rideculous statements when someone doesn't agree with her.

Ohflippineck · 03/09/2019 10:43

No, sorry!

Lefields · 03/09/2019 10:44

She’s my old university lecturer. She always was a bit odd tbh Blush
