How many of you would vote Labour if we had a General Election, just wondering as there have been a few negative comments on here about Labour recently

OP posts:
MarchionessOfCholmondeley · 02/09/2019 21:23

I live in a Tory safe seat with a pompous cunt of an MP. I will vote for whoever is the closest competition to him. Lib dems did very well at the recent local elections so they will get my vote this time

TSSDNCOP · 02/09/2019 21:30

I will abstain. I told my MP in a letter that I would never vote for him again. I absolutely mean it. He’s the MP that used a crucial question in a Brexit debate to ask why the Speaker had a Brexit-related sticker in his car. It was the Speaker’s wife’s car.

Figmentofmyimagination · 02/09/2019 21:33

I’m in a marginal - it was lost from Tory to labour in the disastrous 2017 election. I’ll vote tactically for whoever has the best chance of keeping the Tories out of our constituency for the foreseeable future.

Figmentofmyimagination · 02/09/2019 21:35

I would rather vote Lib Dem but will vote for whoever will defeat the Tory. Last time around, I voted labour as a tactical vote. Stupid electoral system.

Figmentofmyimagination · 02/09/2019 21:39

I really hope farage the puppet master splits the Conservative vote (although farage and Johnson in the rose garden together are going to be hard to stomach).

Petrichor11 · 02/09/2019 21:40

I’d vote labour, I think my area is a pretty safe labour seat and my current labour mp has been vocal against No Deal

Autumnintheair · 02/09/2019 21:41

The speaker who has dragged personal politics into the house in un constitutional manner!
The speaker who is meant be remain impartial

Jellykat · 02/09/2019 21:44

Lib Dem or Plaid, whoever looks the most likely to get Stephen wanker Crabb (my MP) to crawl back under his stone.

Bridget1983 · 02/09/2019 21:46

Labour.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/09/2019 21:48

Dh and I were just discussing this. We live in a very safe Conservative area but our MP has defected to the Independent Group. the constituency voted strongly Remain in the Referendum.

I have never voted Tory and nearly always vote Labour but this time will vote for whoever has the best chance of stopping Brexit and getting the Tories out. If the current MP stands and has a chance of being elected then she'll probably get my vote.

Lookingsparkly · 02/09/2019 21:48

I would vote labour because my current labour MP is excellent. Without her, I would vote Lib Dem.

Abouttimemum · 02/09/2019 21:50

Sadly we’re between a rock and a hard place. I don’t want Brexit and I definitely don’t want Corbyn. What a massive shit storm.

Bluntness100 · 02/09/2019 21:54

It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. If they vote to stop no deal we are into a general election and it's going to be won or lost on brexit. Simply that one issue.

It really is a shit show.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 02/09/2019 21:57

It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow

It will

EskewedBeef · 02/09/2019 22:02

I'm torn. I live in a safe Labour area, and our MP is the hardworking and dependable type, and I want to avoid a no deal Brexit more than anything. But Corbyn.

Cinammoncake · 02/09/2019 22:03

I'm voting LibDem

lemonyellowtangerine · 02/09/2019 22:04

My god, our version of "democracy" is utterly, utterly shit.

Graphista · 02/09/2019 22:04

GE pretty much a definite now.

Johnson channelling Cameron slightly "I don't want to do the thing that nobody wants me to do" thought bubble - I do really but I'm not going to admit that as it will lose votes.

Gah! Why can't politicians just be bloody honest!

fromthefloorboardsup · 02/09/2019 22:04

I will vote Labour

TeamUnicorn · 02/09/2019 22:08

I have no idea, absolutely none whatsoever. I could just cry for the state of politics in this country.

Though according to all the local frothy leavers they will vote The Brexit Party. Something about sovereignty and people who are saying it is a really bad idea have no idea what they are talking about and shouldn't have a say anyway. Predicting riots if we don't leave, but seeing that it is the remainers that have gone out in force the last few days I am not holding my breath

recrudescence · 02/09/2019 22:20

After having voted Labour in every local and national election since being able to, I doubt I will never vote Labour again. I despise Corbyn and what he has done to the party I have supported all my adult life.

twoheaped · 02/09/2019 22:22

I never have and never will vote Labour.

StoneofDestiny · 02/09/2019 22:29

Yes I'd vote Labour to get rid of The Tories and their unholy alliance with the DUP. I'm no fan of Corbyn but he will be a smaller problem to deal with (leaders come and go as May (and Johnson soon) shows).

Fruitbatdancer · 02/09/2019 22:30

There will be a general election. Torries and labour will lose significantly on current numbers but brexit party will be landslide victory (a close 3rd) Torries and brexit party will form coalition- they’ll have enough numbers to get the deal through.
A lot of current MP’s will lose their seat. We’ll end up with bloody farage as deputy PM.

mummyrocks1 · 02/09/2019 22:35

I seriously don't know. I can't find anyone to vote for right now. I don't agree with tories cuts and I am a remainer and think no deal Brexit would be a terrible thing. However, I can't vote for labour as I have no confidence in JC. I would vote labour if he stepped down- do you think he would if an election was called? I think labour would be in a strong position if he just stepped down.

I guess that leaves Lib Dem but it's extremely unlikely they would get in isn't it?
