@RequiringAUsername

It's okay - I understood what you meant.

I've had loads of miscarriages too and many of them showed dark lines at the beginning of the pregnancy.

I was urging the OP to be cautious because I think she's having a Chemical Pregnancy.

ChicCroissant · 28/08/2019 18:51

Report one of your own posts to have the thread moved, OP.

I don't think they are positive tests, sorry to say, and the digital said no as well?

tuberr0se · 28/08/2019 18:52

I see a line!

RequiringAUsername · 28/08/2019 18:52

While I’m with you to some degree RequiringAUsername I don’t think it’s fair to say things like a line is a line etc when many of us have had a faint line only for the pregnancy to not stick. I think it’s cruel to get the OPs hopes up personally.

I totally agree. Which is why further up thread, I stated that I am honest on threads like this etc but I do genuinely see a positive result on the second sets of pictures and a decent one. I've certainly never said "a line is a line" because so many people have tiny shadows that really aren't positive.
OP doesn't seem that sure of her dates so who knows whether it is a strong positive.

RequiringAUsername · 28/08/2019 18:53

Ultimately we can all sit discussing it forever but only time will tell!

Onlythelonelywelcome · 28/08/2019 18:54

I hope the bitter posters find some light in their lives
I can only see one line, not sure why that makes me or anyone else seeing one line bitter.

Got a definite feeling of deja vu though!

nomorewinedayfriday · 28/08/2019 18:54

OP you get all sorts of odd ones lurking in AIBU. Ignore the rude comments raining on your hope/excitement.

I'd say positive, let's hope your lines get stronger in next few days! Re comments above viability and what your lines should be like by now - first response tests didn't work for me until I was late and they meant to show up days before your missed period, think i had a chilled out egg that implanted in its own time 😅 That was a couple weeks ago, had a scan since then and all is well. Tentative congrats to you Smile

SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum · 28/08/2019 18:54

@RequiringAUsername

She did say her LMP was 24/7 though.

koffeetoast · 28/08/2019 18:55

I see 2 lines. you're pregnant! My tests were exactly like this 8 days after ovulation. Congratulations.

slithytove · 28/08/2019 18:55

Yep 2 lines

WeirdCatLady · 28/08/2019 18:56

Not in the slightest, sorry.

NoSauce · 28/08/2019 18:57

Sorry, I wasn’t insinuating you said a line is a line, just that on threads like this it does get bandied about which might get someone’s hopes up. Hopefully the OP will get a nice darker line in the next few days!

KitKat1985 · 28/08/2019 18:58

I see second lines OP.

PurpleDaisies · 28/08/2019 18:59

Bitter seems to be the standard insult for anyone expressing scepticism about whether lines visible on pregnancy tests.

SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum · 28/08/2019 18:59

FFS the OP is at least 19 DPO so her lines should be much, much darker.

WhoAmIToTellYou · 28/08/2019 19:06

Yes, there’s a line there - early days, i had a line like this with DD. Congratulations!

XXcstatic · 28/08/2019 19:07

I was urging the OP to be cautious because I think she's having a Chemical Pregnancy

Most so-called chemical pregnancies are actually people who were never pregnant reading tests wrongly - either leaving them too long or not following the instructions about what the line should look like (which varies from kit to kit but should always be an unambiguous line). For a true chemical pregnancy, the blood or urine pregnancy test will clearly be positive during the pregnancy, however brief.

That's why - as you say - it's so cruel when posters tell someone they can see a line if it isn't a true positive. Instead of the OP thinking, "Oh well, not pregnant yet, keep trying", they convince her that she has had an early pregnancy loss - with all the distress that can bring. How that is supposed to be 'kind' or 'positive', I have no idea.

Basically, if you can't tell whether there is a line, the test is negative.

gingersausage · 28/08/2019 19:07

@SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum how on earth are you diagnosing a chemical pregnancy on the basis of a few pee sticks, with absolutely zero other pertinent information having been given by the OP? Why would you even do that??

Nomorepies · 28/08/2019 19:08

This has been withdrawn by MNHQ on the poster's request.

Rubicon80 · 28/08/2019 19:08

I agree with all of those who say that the line should be a lot darker if you are actually late for your period. I would expect a test like that maybe 2-3 days BEFORE you were due to come on.

TheDarkPassenger · 28/08/2019 19:10

I took a test that looked exactly like this 9 years ago.. I was 13 WEEKS pregnant!!

People on here need to gain some perspective that not everyone is the same and if you’ve experienced one pregnancy, you’ve experienced one pregnancy.

They look positive to me, but I would probs get a digital one that says it clear as day! I wasn’t as excited as you were cos I was young so I didn’t I just plodded along until the doctor got me a scan 😂

neveradullmoment99 · 28/08/2019 19:10

I see a line on the last photo but only on the bottom test. Good luck OP!

ChicCroissant · 28/08/2019 19:12

The OP used a digital test yesterday DarkPassenger which said no.

NoSauce · 28/08/2019 19:12

Maybe because the OP should by rights have a darker line as she’s about a week late would be my guess.

Lots of posters have experience of a chemical pregnancy hence why they’re saying be cautious.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 28/08/2019 19:13

I’m not convinced that a negative test will show a faint line if left too long. We TTC unsuccessfully for years and all my many, many negative tests (lots of different brands) were still snowy white days later. In any event they are designed with dye that reacts to hCG. Given how crap people are at following instructions to the letter, tests would be a fairly shit design if they could show a false positive just by being left too long.

However I do know that a faint line may be a sign of an unviable pregnancy.
