@MrsA2015

If by your FLO app your period is five days late, you should be seeing much darker lines than these.

I'm sorry.

Sexnotgender · 28/08/2019 18:14

For anyone not familiar with this test (known as a FRER), they are SUPER sensitive and if the lines came up in the required timeframe then they are absolutely positive.

Doesn’t matter how feint the second line is, as long as it comes up in the time.

RequiringAUsername · 28/08/2019 18:14

The lines are much clearer on the second lot of photos posted. I am normally very honest on these threads, I don't agree with all the "oh it's positive" when you are having to squint and go cross eyed. Mainly because, after my own troubles conceiving, I think in the long run it is kinder to be honest. However, OP I do believe those are proper positives. I did not have to squint or turn my phone and they have colour. As a professional piss-on-a-sticker I think they are positive so congratulations Thanks

SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum · 28/08/2019 18:14

@Babynut1

This was my 7 or 8 dpo test on my second

But the OP is now 19 dpo.

Lines should be much darker at this stage.

jaggynettle · 28/08/2019 18:17

Hi OP you can post on the "becoming a parent" page under "conception" plenty of line spotters there. I hope this is your BFP ThanksThanks

lostfrequencies · 28/08/2019 18:17

Next time post in the conception topic, not AIBU. There are clearly two lines, I think some people are just being dicks.

cookiechomper · 28/08/2019 18:17

At 5 days late your test should be a lot darker than that. Unless it's possible you're not as late as you think?

XXcstatic · 28/08/2019 18:20

I hope the bitter posters find some light in their lives

Fuck know how it is supposed to be helpful to pretend the tests are positive, just because that's what you want to believe. If you're so sure they are positive, why are you even asking? It's bad enough having these pointless threads in Conception -surely we don't have to have them in AIBU too?

FWIW, I can see a faint second line but this can happen if the test is left for more than the recommended time before checking it. That's why the instructions will always say to ignore the test if you have left it longer. They will also always say that the 2nd line should look similar to the test line - that's the whole point of having the test line. The tests are not positive today (I have read thousands of them - HCP), but hopefully you are pregnant and it's just a bit early.

Soubriquet · 28/08/2019 18:21

I can see lines on all the pictures however some of them look grey and not pink.

Hopefully with a new test in a while it will give you the results you want

bellie710 · 28/08/2019 18:23

After doing fertility treatment for 2 years I went to the clinic and did a pregnancy test to make sure I wasn't pregnant before they started me on the next set of drugs. They looked at it said, ok not pregnant and left the room. I picked up the test and could see a very faint line, I showed them and they said no but if you want to wait a week we can. I waited a week and 9 months later had a little girl!! Congratulations!

MrsA2015 · 28/08/2019 18:25

I’m not for pretending to see things and don’t expect anybody else to. Just thought this is where women came to get excited and indulge themselves in these issues. I’ve had many outrightly negative results 10 days past period due date and that was disheartening. Not even a faint line or anything so this time I’m jumping at the chance of it happening.

Totally get that and I'll cross my fingers for you but YABU to call PPs "bitter" for giving you their honest opinion when you have asked for it.

MrsA2015 · 28/08/2019 18:29

Not bitter at saying they can’t see anything, some have added on negativity! I genuinely appreciate honesty just no need for negativity

MrsA2015 i dont think for a moment anyone is being bitter yes your hoping to be Mum to be and I sincerely hope you are but these bloody tests arent conculusivbe enough somneone need sto come up with a more reliable and definative one thats got a line that anyone can see!

That is a simple prooof that you are there !

NeverGotMyPuppy · 28/08/2019 18:33

@XXcstatic what do you get from being so aggressive? No one made you read the thread. It was quite clear what it was about. OP just needed some opinions.

Ufortunately these threads happen the same way everytime- people who apparently know fuck all about how pregnancy tests work start talking about how a proper positive has a strong line and other people (who I can only assume are among the registered blind) deny the existence of a line.

@MrsA2015 I definitely see lines, I would wait til the morning and do another but false positives dont exist (I dont think!) so I say congratulations. What lovely news.

SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum · 28/08/2019 18:33

@MrsA2015

Please be aware that as your period is 5 days late you really should be seeing obvious lines at this stage. (HCP - have also seen thousands of tests)

I can just about see lines on your tests but as FRER are the most reliable tests on the market I would very definitely expect there to be no ambiguity about the result.

If you have a viable pregnancy you're 4 weeks and 5 days.

Wait for a week and if you don't bleed test again.

RedXIII · 28/08/2019 18:34

I see it! Been having line eyes for past two + years lol
I had that one day before due af and didn't get any darker for a week which was weird and worrying but I'm 33 weeks pregnant now so good luck!! Grin

NeverGotMyPuppy · 28/08/2019 18:34

sigh

The only inconclusive pregnanc tests are ones where the test line doesnt come up. These are positive tests. It may be that the pregnancy isnt developing as it should be - which obviously we hope isnt the case - but those are positive tests.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 28/08/2019 18:37

Fingers crossed for you OP, I can definitely see a faint line so it’s just a waiting game for you now. My understanding is that you will only see a line if there is pregnancy hormone hCG in your blood. However, speaking from experience, it’s quite possible to get a genuine positive but the pregnancy doesn’t stick properly and it just fades away to nothing within a week or so, too early for it to be classed as a miscarriage. People call that a “chemical pregnancy”. In days gone by tests were not sensitive enough to show them so women had no idea that they had ever been pregnant; with today’s sensitive tests we are a bit more aware.
I had a very clear “pregnant” on a digital test that showed the word rather than a line, but the tests stopped reading positive a few days later. I did go on to have a baby another time though, and a chemical pregnancy at least shows you that egg and spell are capable of meeting and doing their stuff!

All the best.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 28/08/2019 18:38

Cross post @NeverGotMyPuppy.

NoSauce · 28/08/2019 18:40

I don’t think anyone has been negative or bitter have they? If you’re a week late you would normally have a stronger line OP that’s all. Be cautiously optimistic but aware it might be a chemical pg, I really hope it’s not!

You may have ovulated later hence the very faint line.

RequiringAUsername · 28/08/2019 18:42

Whilst this is true, I've had three miscarriages and all three had beautiful, dark lines. I think the OP probably just wanted us to clarify if we saw the lines, not whether we believed the pregnancy to be viable or not. It isn't really fair to speculate on that is it, although I'm sure your intention is to be informative and helpful.

RequiringAUsername · 28/08/2019 18:42

Sorry, I realise other posters are also speculating on viability too, I wasn't just picking on your post. It was just the first one I noticed!

Erismorn · 28/08/2019 18:44

OP - I'd agree with those saying there is a faint line, but I'd expect a darker line if you are 5 days late.

For comparison, I took a supermarket own brand (blue dye) test at 4 days late and it was extremely dark. I think you are best waiting a few days and testing again then. Good luck!

NoSauce · 28/08/2019 18:44

While I’m with you to some degree RequiringAUsername I don’t think it’s fair to say things like a line is a line etc when many of us have had a faint line only for the pregnancy to not stick. I think it’s cruel to get the OPs hopes up personally.
