How often do you wash your towels?

I wash mine after two goes and I regularly bleach... husband thinks I'm mental? AIBU??

And excess bleach and chemicals affecting rivers.

woodhill · 27/08/2019 18:06

I think that is why there was hatred of the Jews as Kosher practice also seemed to offer protection from the plague to some extent

MolyHolyGuacamole · 27/08/2019 18:09

Once a week! How much detergent do you get through? Confused

Podwoman888 · 27/08/2019 18:12

Hand towels get washed after 3 days.

Bath towels get washed after one use (that's mainly because people use them to wipe drips off the b/room floor)

I don't bleach anything.

@ThinkGlow You're not the only one!

vanitythynameisnotwoman · 27/08/2019 18:38

Fortnightly. Shower alternate days unless it's super-hot. ME/CFS means I couldn't wash them more even if I'd like to. I'm not well enough to change my own bed so sheets get done when someone offers to help.
But honestly I think the environmental crisis means the "I want..." of a clean house/towels/etc is completely overridden by what we all need. Which is to be as sparing as possible with our resources.

@ThighThighOfthigh 'NC for this as outing.* Towels are bad for the environment, tiny threads escape and embed themselves in your eyeballs.*'

OMFG, this is such an amazing post by this wonderous person, I wonder what her usual name is, I'd love to be on other threads by her Shock

Lweji · 27/08/2019 19:01

Yes, working people have stinking houses. Fact.

There you go. See? Was that so hard?

Flannels every day.
Hand towels every other day.
Bath towels every 3 days, sometimes sooner.

InsertFunnyUsername · 27/08/2019 19:44

keto

Dont be ridiculous, flash bathroom spray is THE only one to use, anything else wouldn't be clean enough.

ThighThighOfthigh · 27/08/2019 20:18

NC for this thread.

Wash your arsehole in boiling malt vinegar then clean your bathroom with your arse. Fun plus eco conscious.

Morgellons disease?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 27/08/2019 20:54

There you go. See? Was that so hard?

It was as hard as it was serious.

HasThisSoddingNameGoneToo · 27/08/2019 21:11

@RainingFrogsAndHats - you are a dirty beast. I buy new towels every morning, then throw them straight away. After we have showers (every 7 minutes; we go in cycles) we stand naked in front of Dyson hand dryers, which I then clean in a vat of hydrochloric acid.

yy558 · 27/08/2019 21:12

Lol at all the Posts :)

Twice a month maybe. Linen once a week/fortnight. I never let them get to the smelly stage!!

And I don't use bleach- Seems a bit extreme given you use them when you're clean. I definitely like hanging them out in the summer though as it smells lovely afterwards.

NoIsACompleteAnswerSometimes · 27/08/2019 21:34

JoxerGoesToStuttgart thought of you the other day! I forgot my towel the other day so dried myself on the hand towel. I tried it before as an experiment for you on the previous towel thread you were talking about and again, I can confirm it's possible!

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 27/08/2019 21:36

Yeah!! It’s a winner for sure Grin

origamiunicorn · 27/08/2019 21:38

Surely if you're washing yourself properly it's just clean water on your towels?

NoIsACompleteAnswerSometimes · 27/08/2019 21:59

JoxerGoesToStuttgart don't think I washed my hair that day, but even if I had I would have dried myself then wrapped the hand towel round my head. For the record, I wash the towels once a week unless they smell, but we hang them up after showering so they dry and rarely smell.

ThighThighOfthigh · 27/08/2019 22:10

First time poster.

I never wash myself or my towels. MN is just a bunch of posh twats with more washing than sense.

Fuck you 🖔

FiddlesticksAkimbo · 27/08/2019 22:22

I used to wash my white towels with my white knickers.

FiddlesticksAkimbo · 27/08/2019 22:23

But I died of acute knicker plague about five weeks ago.
