Why are we all sweeping this under the carpet...if it was a footballer...a pop star or a tv personality then it would be major news....The BBC has virtually ignored what has happened....whether he is guilty or not..his associate is most definitely....feel so sorry for these young girls

No smoke without 🔥

JenniR29 · 24/08/2019 21:17

‘Getting of what lightly? He hasn’t be charged with anything has he?’

There is enough credible evidence for him to charged with having sex with an underage girl against her will. At the very least he’s getting away without proper media scrutiny.

Gingerkittykat · 24/08/2019 21:18

It is extremely unfortunate that he was friendly with that Epstein bloke but for all we know, we could all be quite friendly with someone who does awful things and not find out until later

He was friends with Epstein after his conviction. That alone means he deserves judgement and loss of respect. He is being absolutely slated on social media, the Queen driving a grinning Andrew to church in the height of the scandal has done her no favours either.

Maybe the tide is turning for entitled rich men who are sexual predators now.

Andrew latest

Roussette · 24/08/2019 21:19

He's been cited as to having sex with an underage girl. I doubt it will go anywhere as he is denying everything. As is Ghislaine Maxwell of course (she was the one procuring the girls for Epstein)

Kublai · 24/08/2019 21:20

Will he did ‘have’ a lot of people. There are reports that he has slept with over 1000 women. It is all very disturbing, I hope that if any of these women were underage or victims of sex trafficking that they get justice.

Tucobenedicto · 24/08/2019 21:24

GINGERKITTYKAT....very true..the queen better be very up to date and know something we don't know...Nicholas Witchell get your bosses to get you on tv or resign your post.

You are having a larf! He knew

His friends and his aides advised him to drop the friendship when Epstein went into prison for underage sex but he refused, saying he is loyal to his friends.

He was UK Trade Envoy and was dismissed from this because of this friendship which he thought he could ride out and carry on as normal.

MoaningMinnie1 · 24/08/2019 21:24

This is what Andrew said (I expect others have already read it, I hadn't until just now):

Prince Andrew said he saw Mr Epstein “infrequently” and he said: “At no stage during the limited time I spent with him did I see, witness or suspect any behaviour of the sort that subsequently led to his arrest and conviction.

“I have said previously that it was a mistake and an error to see him after his release in 2010 and I can only reiterate my regret that I was mistaken to think that what I thought I knew of him was evidently not the real person, given what we now know."

I can't see any reason to disbelieve him until there is concrete evidence.
Years ago I knew someone who was friendly with Jimmy Saville, she thought he was really nice! You can't always know exactly what is going on in someone else's life and if you do hear rumours, very often they are difficult to believe.

Whatever, surely no one believes Prince Andrew is a paedophile?

HandsReachingOut · 24/08/2019 21:24

He's not bothered. He's on holidays with Fergie. The Palace said he will make a statement when he returns. Hmm

Roussette · 24/08/2019 21:28

He's just made a statement. It's an insult to anyone with a brain

Prince Andrew said he saw Mr Epstein “infrequently” and he said: “At no stage during the limited time I spent with him did I see, witness or suspect any behaviour of the sort that subsequently led to his arrest and conviction

Well.... he's not gonna say any different is he?

But bear in mind there is footage showing him inside Epstein's NY mansion letting out an underage girl and he had foot massages from young Russian girls. This is not just a member of the general public, this is the Queen's son.

Roussette · 24/08/2019 21:29

All I know is... if someone I knew was convicted and sent to prison for sex with underage girls (plus more) I'm damned if I'd be still friendly with them. AND I'm not a member of the RF. There is no excuse

flumpybear · 24/08/2019 21:30

He's got a lot of explaining to do!

Outsomnia · 24/08/2019 21:33

Cat is out of the bag now.

The more you deny the greater the cynicism.

Anyway, all these so called protected status people will be found out eventually. That is what the papers do.

Instead of informing us about the realities of BREXIT. Smokescreen almighty. LOL.

dayswithaY · 24/08/2019 21:37

Makes sense that he such close buddies with Fergie - she's got some dirt on him and all this will they/won't they get back together is just a smokescreen. Designed to make him look like a good all round family guy still in love with his ex. Rubbish. They probably get drunk together and discuss their latest shags. She's known the real story all along and will protect him as long as she needs to.

LizzieSiddal · 24/08/2019 21:42

“I have said previously that it was a mistake and an error to see him after his release in 2010 and I can only reiterate my regret that I was mistaken to think that what I thought I knew of him was evidently not the real person, given what we now know."

Does he think we’re all stupid?

He stayed with this man after he’d served time in prison for sex offences against underage girls.Angry.

ilovesooty · 24/08/2019 21:43

He hasn't got a lot of explaining to do. I've never been keen on him regardless of this issue but he's the queen's son and as such will be untouchable.

And that includes any comment on this forum which could be deemed inappropriate I would think.

StoneofDestiny · 24/08/2019 21:44

It is extremely unfortunate that he was friendly with that Epstein bloke but for all we know, we could all be quite friendly with someone who does awful things and not find out until later

What??

He chose that his friendship with Epstein should continue after his conviction for sex crimes!

Rachelover40 · 24/08/2019 21:46

I dunno what to think. I hate thinking the worst of anyone whoever they are.

Perhaps it's best not to think about it, there's nothing any of us can do.

Sagradafamiliar · 24/08/2019 21:48

If Fergie knew all along, it makes you wonder who else might've known...

londonrach · 24/08/2019 21:52

Ive seen a few op on mn and other places. I think people waiting to know more

Roussette · 24/08/2019 21:59

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/aug/23/prince-andrew-appalled-epstein-royal-wedding?CMP=share_btn_tw

From this article (and it's worth reading the whole thing)

It’s basically your classic men-of-the-world vignette. Lying in business dress in the New York mansion of his friend Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew is receiving a foot massage from a young, well-dressed Russian woman. Other men are in the room while this is happening, and they include Epstein (also being foot-massaged by a Russian woman) and the literary agent John Brockman, who runs a foundation connecting scientists and intellectuals with billionaires. As the young Russians work on their feet, Andy is complaining about his lot. “In Monaco,” he says, according to Brockman’s account, “[Prince] Albert works 12 hours a day but at 9pm, when he goes out, he does whatever he wants, and nobody cares. But, if I do it, I’m in big trouble.”

Rachelover40 · 24/08/2019 21:59

Jenn: There is enough credible evidence for him to charged with having sex with an underage girl against her will.
.............
Where? That's quite a couple of accusations, a girl under sixteen and rape.

Outsomnia · 24/08/2019 22:00

I'd say the entire Royal Family are saints and have never put a foot wrong. Ever. Big LOL.

We just don't hear about the indiscretions or whatever because UK media will never dish the dirt.

But now things are from the good ole USA and Trump. Must be some media manipulation going on.

LOL.

StoneofDestiny · 24/08/2019 22:02

there's nothing any of us can do

He has to be investigated as anybody else would be.

We need to do away with the monarchy - an elected head of state could be voted out of office and we'd not be keeping their endless heirs in the luxury (paid for by our taxes) they have come to think of as their right!

Outsomnia · 24/08/2019 22:09

We are powerless. Nothing we can do.

The media in UK is useless for informing us. They are for or against.

No independent analysis at all. And the RF is off limits.

What a great country we live in now.

Dogs have more ways that they don't need to be muzzled!
