To wonder why DH shows me these photos?

DH has started going for long walks.

He is gone for about four hours twice a week. He shows me photos he has taken while he's walking up hills in the countryside.

I have to pretend to be interested.

AIBU to tell him I don't want to see another thirty pictures of scenery?

I do think an Instagram account is the answer. He can upload them to his heart's content; you can 'heart' as many as you feel is necessary, job done.

4 hours is a big walk. Imagine if he starts telling you what he saw, on the first bit, then round the bend, then just up the first bit of the hill.......

Maybe you could gift him a photography course for his birthday.
Then he’d take better photos that you might enjoy looking at :)

YABU I went a hill walk with my Ddog today and I made DS9 look at my pictures and even he feigned interest.

Could be worse.

My stepdad insists on showing anyone (my mum) photos of dead wildlife he encountered on his walks.

I think he thinks they are interesting photos because "who doesn't love a badger?". He never understands that a living badger is interesting, but a dead one is miserable.

Oh god DH does this every time he climbs up a mountain, whats worse is he has generally been away for a weekend doing it whilst I look after DS and the dog that everyone else was so keen to get. On the last boys weekend they posed in interesting positions for the photos which did make it more fun.

I find the trick with showing someone photos is to give them the album/ phone/ whatever and let them look through at their own speed warp factor 9

Maybe just gently tell him OP that if you liked it that much, you'd go with him? Or go with the photography course suggestion.

I have a DH who tells me about work and the in great detail about new types of watch that have just been made.

I have a DS who keeps showing me 'amusing' memes on his phone when I'm trying to watch Vera.

Both are very boring, but putting up with it is part of being a loving family. I have no doubt they think some things I do are boring.

It's better than being lonely and unloved.

It’s ok OP I get it, my DP bangs on about cars in the same way and the workings of combustion engines and I really couldn’t give a single fuck lol, or the intricacies of a radial electrical circuit, the winter evenings simply fly by!

He’s obviously trying to facilitate you lifting your eyes to the [pseudo-]mountains without you having to actually go to the bother of traipsing up there yourself. V considerate really...

Maybe you could compile a list of things you WOULD like him to photograph, eg goatherds (TARDISlike huts optional) & wildflowers?

My DH is on a bike ride and I've had 8 photos. Was a bit jealous of the pint and crisps photo he took at the pub, as I was sweating it out in town trying to buy school uniform for a sulky teen.

I think a smile and nod goes a long way, be happy he wants to share the views with you.

One needs to concentrate very hard to keep up with what's going on during episodes of Vera.

So he came back an hour ago and to my surprise, did not show me a load of photos.

Perhaps he read this thread while climbing up wherever he climbs.

He seems happy though.

lol yeah i'd struggle to feign interest too. DP like to send me pictures of the sea but fortunately he does it on whatsapp whilst he's away so i just ignore them/acknowledge with an emoji.

Genuinely don't understand why you're being flamed by some posters for not wanting to go on long nature walks 😂 just tell him to send you his favourite one each month so that you can make them into a calendar?

DH has just had two picture frames delivered, and is busy framing two of his masterpieces.(Sigh).

I have dutifully admired both, though I have to admit they are quite professional. But he's meant to be mixing up a jug of Pimms FFS!

Get him to set up an Instagram account. Randomly "like" his pictures and "comment" on each prime numbered one with "print this" etc. You can do this whilst on the toilet, in the bath and so on.
