Stupid arguments.

Would I be unreasonable to ask you all about the most ridiculous argument you and your partner have had? Here is mine...

Boyfriend: "Oh I see you're drinking your favourite pop again. Perhaps you should drink more water instead."

Me: "No, I seem to pee so much more if I drink plain water compared to drinks like hemp milk or green tea for example."

Boyfriend: looks at me funny "What is the main ingredient in your pop?"

Me: "Water."

Boyfriend: "Exactly! Drinks are made with mostly water."

Me: Looks at bottle ingredients "The lable doesn't specify how much water is in my pop. It could be more fruit juice than water. How are you to know? I mean you can clearly see it is more orange than anything else."

Boyfriend: shakes his head at me in disbelief and chuckles away to himself

Me: "See! You cannot tell me. Why say that if you cannot answer the question?"

Boyfriend: unable to speak now due to full on laughing

Me: "Keep laughing all you want, Mr. Brainiac."

To be fair I barely slept the night before and my head was away with the fairies. I'm normally pretty logical and quite intelligent. ☺

I'm not a journalist before anyone asks. I was a lurker for quite a while.

Actually the ingredients are usually listed in order of quantity iirc, so if it says water first it's mostly water.
He should shut up though, I can't stand people going on at me to drink water. I don't like drinking it.

fairhairedfairy · 22/08/2019 15:16

Boyfriend: "Oh I see you're drinking your favourite pop again. Perhaps you should drink more water instead."

He sounds like a twat. Why the fuck would he say this?

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 22/08/2019 15:18

Confused that doesn’t sound like an argument.

Also, do you really say pop instead of the name of the drink?

poolblack · 22/08/2019 15:19

I can't even understand what that is about. Is your relationship always ridiculous arguments?

QueenofmyPrinces · 22/08/2019 15:21

Pop?

Where I’m from, pop is fizzy drinks like Cola, Lemonade, Dr Pepper etc etc

That’s not what you’re talking about though is it? Are you talking about squash? Or juice?

MmmBlowholes · 22/08/2019 15:25

First ingredient is largest quantity.

All sounds very petty and childish.

FiveLittlePigs · 22/08/2019 15:48

Not an argument.

I've not heard the word ”pop” used in relation to a drink since Girls’ Brigade and Church Parade circa 1983 when the minister invited us all to ”a cup of tea in the church hall after the service and there's plenty of pop for the children” with a huge smile. Took me back. Smile

Iggly · 22/08/2019 15:49

If it says water first then yes it’ll be mostly water.

It’s like when you dilute cordial in water. It’s mainly water 🤷🏻‍♀️

ShirleyPhallus · 22/08/2019 15:50

Who uses the word pop?!

MaMaMaMySharona · 22/08/2019 15:54

I use pop for fizzy pop.

Not the point of OP's post though guys!

cheeseislife8 · 22/08/2019 15:58

My DH says pop too for fizzy drinks!

Our most ridiculous argument was when we were moving house, some paperwork detail where we realised we were basically pushing for the same end result, just wording it differently. We both ended up stopping and saying "Oh ok" and laughing!

thisusernameisclearlyoriginal · 22/08/2019 15:59

Oh dear! I see the serious police are out again.

I have read this twice but my comprehension skills have escaped me.

jellybaby1 · 22/08/2019 16:13

I always say pop for any fizzy drink🙂 think it's a regional thing though coz everyone else says it

mummmy2017 · 22/08/2019 16:15

The yellow is to do with bile.

ImpossibleGirl86 · 22/08/2019 16:16

I have to admit, I really don't understand your argument, sorry. Confused

However, ours was about whether or not you can make cheese on toast using bread rolls. Hmm

AllBellsNoWhistles · 22/08/2019 16:23

I think the most ridiculous argument we had was over a slice of ham.
There was one slice left in the packet and the argument was about who was going to have that in the packed lunch the following day. It ended up a full blown argument where everything gets dragged up, stuff from years before, all completely irrelevant to this slice of ham. 😂
The argument ended when the dog snaffled it while we were too busy arguing about it to notice.

LoopyLou1981 · 22/08/2019 16:31

impossiblegirl86 you can definitely make cheese on toast with bread rolls! It’s amazing! You can put extra cheese on and you get a cheese puddle where the soft roll dips down in the middle 🤤

poolblack · 22/08/2019 16:50

Oh dear! I see the serious police are out again.

Your post is nonsense. Nobody is being serious, we just can't work out WTF it's about, what the point of it is or what we are supposed to say 🤷‍♀️

ShirleyPhallus · 22/08/2019 16:53

Oh dear! I see the serious police are out again.

It doesn’t really make sense, I really can’t see how it’s funny or how the final paragraph makes any sense or fits in

cheeseislife8 · 22/08/2019 21:52

DH and I have just had an argument over the pronunciation of demon. DH says it should have a D on the end... like demond. Makes no fucking sense and it made me irrationally mad!

Ilikethisone · 22/08/2019 21:54

If water is listed first it has more water in. Plus juice has water in it as well.

What pop is it?

Ilikethisone · 22/08/2019 21:59

We once fell out about wether the term for a bap. Was 'bap' or 'bread cake'.

His sister came round and pointed out it was a bread roll. All hell broke loose as well as all of us furiously googling to prove the point. Grin

@cheeseislife8 Dp pronounces it with a d on the end. It makes me want to shout 'THERES NO FUCKING D ON IT' Grin

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 22/08/2019 22:18

Where are all these people who hear a “D” on the end of demon? Confused Grin
