I HAVE A TREADMILL!

I am a lazy arse. No way around it.
I ballooned to size 20 and it's really not OK. Over the years I have had a rowing machine on which I fucked my back up, the bike thing, for which I was too lazy and a stepper, which is way too hard and gives me crumps.

I eat healthy food, do obviously sin, like everyone does, but main problem is my lack of movement.

So I found used treadmill and wooohoooo. It's great! I read when on it or put some show on and it's a bliss. Sweaty, but bliss. Sweaty as in I look like I just walked out of shower.

But no one except my DH knows! Because firstly, I want to have that "Erm... You lost weight! Awesome!" when I eventually lose, from people who haven't seen me for a bit. Blush
And secondly because if my family got a whiff of it I would hear "So have you used it today?" and so on every. Single. Day.🙄

But I need to tell someone that I have a treadmill and am actually using it, so here I am 😁

Hope you are all doing better than me😂
I hit the 4 week wall and got a little chest infection. So it wasn't a hangover. I wondered that I haven't drunk that much. Managed 2km the day after and skipped yesterday since I couldn't properly breath. Currently have a massive "Get the fuck on that treadmill" discussion with my body🙄

Try a parkrun next saturday. Lots of people walk it, you can run for a while, then walk for a while, then run again.

It’s great fun and the people are really supportive

IAmALazyArse · 07/09/2019 20:21

I did it. 2.8km and now I am still catching my breath😂 Damn autumn chest infections.

@Dollymixture22 I am banned from running😐 My knees are doomed since I was little and I even had exceptions from certain exercises in PE. Only walking and even with that I can often feel them.

Don’t dismiss parkrun when you are feeling fitter 🙂 we have lots of walkers every week and it’s a lovely community to get involved with 🙂

You won’t come last as that’s the tail walkers job 🙂 and you will get a time sent through so you can check your progress 😁

Ive only just seen this thread. I’m also a size 20 & also a very very lazy treadmill owner. Mine is in the sittingroom the last 2 years & all I do is dust it. You have inspired me to use it again. That & the fact that yesterday I had to leave my car in the garage in the morning & walk 15 mins home, then walk 15 mins back to collect it. I also did a major clearout on a very small back garden. Today every muscle aches. I shouldn’t be like that at age 44!
Right, treadmill is being powered up right now.
I will also be telling no one! I too want the look of shock on people’s faces when they see how fabulous I look lol.

IAmALazyArse · 18/09/2019 21:41

How is everyone doing😁

I hit bit of a bad time so been slacking. But it's getting better now and I am nearly fully back on.
Honestly made myself go even if it was just 10 min.

Woohoo well done OP!

RubySlippers77 · 22/09/2019 23:31

I would love a treadmill OP! But even the cheapo second hand ones near us go for around £100 Sad I think MIL may have one that she uses as a clothes horse(!) - wonder if she'd let me borrow it?!

(In fact I would love to go back to the gym - but a treadmill at home would get more use, assuming I could find somewhere to keep it!)

Hope you are still doing well OP!

FleurNancy · 22/09/2019 23:52

Ooh, I might buy an exercise bike. I have joint issues which make running tricky and live somewhere way too hilly and rural for actual bike riding so this could work...

CanuckBC · 23/09/2019 00:32

Just hear to cheat you on OP. You are doing fantastic! I don’t have a treadmill but I do Tae Kwon Do several times a week. It kicks my bum royally. Sometimes literally🤣. I can’t fully spar anymore due to too many concussions which sucks as it’s one of the many fun parts of it. I am usually soaking in sweat and red faced at the end. I have a blast doing it! I am so proud of my accomplishments as I am a red/black belt and almost at a black belt! I am more fit and confident.

Keep at it! You are already seeing some results and will keep seeing more❤️

IAmALazyArse · 30/09/2019 20:31

Well I have been off for 4 sessions due to small chest infection and wow. Now it's hard to get to some good distance.
I had a look at the c25k and adopted some of it.
So now I am doing 0.5km in 4kmh, 0.5km in 4.5kmh, 0.5km in 4kmh and so on.
I do manage only about 2.5km atm due to the break and breathing, but gey ho. Better than nothing.

Hope you re all ok! And thanks for the support!

Well done @IAmALazyArse!! I'm still looking for a second hand treadmill for home, asked MIL but she looked a bit vague, has probably managed to lose hers under a pile of clothes Grin

wingardium8 · 01/10/2019 09:53

Treadmills are particularly ace when you have small children and no partner home to mind the DC while you go for a run/to the gym. You also get all the stats and can gradually increase your speed in a controlled manner.

I wish I'd got one!

IAmALazyArse · 01/10/2019 09:57

@RubySlippers77 thanks 😁
I found mine on Facebook market place. Maybe have a look in case the one from MIL is for ever lost under the clothes😂

@wingardium8 and it takes away the "Ugh, but the weather" excuse

I started on a treadmill 🙂 ran a half marathon on Sunday - very very slowly but still...

IAmALazyArse · 02/10/2019 08:29
