I HAVE A TREADMILL!

I am a lazy arse. No way around it.
I ballooned to size 20 and it's really not OK. Over the years I have had a rowing machine on which I fucked my back up, the bike thing, for which I was too lazy and a stepper, which is way too hard and gives me crumps.

I eat healthy food, do obviously sin, like everyone does, but main problem is my lack of movement.

So I found used treadmill and wooohoooo. It's great! I read when on it or put some show on and it's a bliss. Sweaty, but bliss. Sweaty as in I look like I just walked out of shower.

But no one except my DH knows! Because firstly, I want to have that "Erm... You lost weight! Awesome!" when I eventually lose, from people who haven't seen me for a bit. Blush
And secondly because if my family got a whiff of it I would hear "So have you used it today?" and so on every. Single. Day.🙄

But I need to tell someone that I have a treadmill and am actually using it, so here I am 😁

@Passmethepepsi go for it!

@justilou1 Great job! I am aiming for about 50-60kg weight loss. This is the last part. I am eating well, changed few things, only thing stopping the weightloss was a lack of movement. So treadmill is the last phase.
I am already less swollen. Woohooo.

@cakeandchampagne thank you!

Congrats, @IAmALazyArse!!! Please don’t think I am gloating! I am genuinely celebrating every lifestyle change with you. I know how difficult that first bit is, but it does get easier!!! One little bit at a time is so easier than changing every single part of your life and expecting instant gratification!!! So congratulations! I’m genuinely proud of you!!!

IAmALazyArse · 21/08/2019 10:56

@justilou1 errrm. You SHOULD be gloating! That's a great thing you achieved so be freaking proud of that. Everyone should!
And thank you 😁

Well done!!
I need a treadmill. I'm doing couch to 5k and it's going well but I know in the winter I'll find it hard to keep up.

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 21/08/2019 13:06

Mine is in my bedroom, barely used due to disability/mobility issues, but whatever you do don't even drape one item of clothing over it, or so much as a handbag because once you do the thing will disappear under a mountain of clothes that are only there 'for a little while until I hang them up...'...treadmill to clothes horse in the blink of an eye 😆

IAmALazyArse · 21/08/2019 17:49

So who did theirs today? 😁
3km 1 hour

OP posts:
IAmALazyArse · 21/08/2019 17:49

The sweat is even in my ears now🙄

OP posts:
IAmALazyArse · 21/08/2019 17:51

@Treaclepie19 get a good raincoat 😁

@Whatwaswrongwiththatusername that's how my bike ended up 😂 Not going to happen to this one. That's why it's in the spareroom/study😁 Hope you get better soon x

IAmALazyArse · 30/08/2019 16:01

Just in case anyone is still watching😁 And because I REALLY need to publicly pat myself on my back....😁

I am up to 4kmh speed, 5x a week minimum 3km distance and getting better. I did have to get headband because my head sweats so much I can see, let alone read towards the end.
By the end of September I should be near to 5k a dayWine
DH is really proud of me sticking with it so far.

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 02/09/2019 13:06

Hey that's really good! Do wish I could do that! But maybe if I actually get round to clearing my room of the clothes mountains then perhaps I'll try and do a gentle stroll on days when I'm not so bad. You have inspired me! Grin
Maybe I should give myself a foal to get the clothes cleared by the end of the week (my birthday on Friday, maybe. Start my new year afresh!), and report back for encouragement ☺️

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 02/09/2019 13:08

Ok, I meant goal! Although maybe promising myself a foal would be more motivational 😂 not sure where I'd keep it tho, but I could exercise it on the treadmill...

IDontDrinkTea · 02/09/2019 13:19

This sounds amazing!!

If you ever fancy venturing outside of your spare room... look up your local parkrun. There’s loads of people that walk ours (it’s not all running wankers) and everyone gets the same cheer at the end however long it takes

IAmALazyArse · 02/09/2019 19:45

Thank you! Really made up with it.

@Whatwaswrongwiththatusername ooooh. Happy birthday in advance! I hope you will feel better and give it a gentle stroll. Glad I inspired you😁

@IDontDrinkTea sounds lovely, but I don't have too much spare time so I am combining this with a study. Reading while walking seems to really work! Would end up splattered on a pavement and once I lie down... That's it😂

KUGA · 02/09/2019 20:20

AH bless you.
Keep going for it.
And a high 5 and air hug for you.
Keep up the good work.

IAmALazyArse · 02/09/2019 20:43

@KUGA thank you 😁

DH had a go today. Including the slenderbelt 😁 Ended up as sweaty as I do😁

swampytiggaa · 02/09/2019 21:15

I love my treadmill 🙂 means I can get a short run in any time I choose 🙂 I run outside lots as part of a group but if I need to run alone I use the treadmill 🙂

swampytiggaa · 03/09/2019 10:09

And after reading this yesterday I got my arse out of bed this morning and ran on mine for 30 minutes 🙂 so thank you @IAmALazyArse for re-inspiring me!

IAmALazyArse · 03/09/2019 10:27

@swampytiggaa good job! Glad I reinspired you.

I am currently at this stage😁

That’s a brilliant secret OP 💪🏻
Well done and good luck for your weight loss.

popehilarious · 03/09/2019 10:41

You've inspired me but I don't know where I would put one. If it went in the double garage would I ever go on it? Got a spare tv type thing (wouldn't get a signal but could watch DVDs) I could put there but garage is not a particularly pleasant place to spend time!

ElleDriver · 03/09/2019 10:46

Well done op! I think I'm going to invest in an exercise bike or cross trainer. First step affording it, second step using it 🤦🏻‍♀️

bluebluezoo · 03/09/2019 10:52

Me too :).

I have started and failed at couch to 5k so many times. I just hate running. It’s boring.

So I got my treadmill. When I have an hour I would normally sit and watch tv/mumsnet etc, i go and do it on the treadmill. I set it at a walking pace that will have me sweaty at the end, and walk, netflix, send emails, do online banking etc.

My goal is number of steps. So if I go a bit faster I can finish sooner, or i can take it easier and do an extra 10 mins.

I lost 7lb in 2 months. I’ve had a break over the school hols but start again tomorrow :).

I get the comments thing too. My cover is it’s for dh’s marathon training, so no one knows i sneak on when everyone else is out.

naturistmum · 03/09/2019 10:53

That's a fantastic achievement. Its often the getting started that is the hardest. Are you keeping a log of your activity - I find it really motivating to have a poster with dates, distance travelled, speed, calories burnt, time, etc. That way you can see how much you have improved and I find it spurs me on to exceed the last exercise recorded.

I did a walking challenge in Aug to walk 50 miles (I ended up doing 63). It was nice weather and I was on hols for much of it so had the time but I know I wont go out in cold or wet weather. So I've joined the gym and plan to continue my walking on the treadmill there. Like you I watch I downloaded episode from Netflix and before you know it you've done an hour. I plan to do some of those set programmes that adjust incline and speed now I am feeling a bit fitter.

barniee · 03/09/2019 10:55

Congrats. But losing weight is 80% diet 20% exercise. I was able to lose 6lbs with a broken ankle. Good luck with your weight loss.

Mummytea24 · 03/09/2019 11:04

Well done you! I don't blame you for keeping it a secret Smile
