To kill DH

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 15:49

Ok I'm not actually going to kill him BUT he went fishing last week, caught a cold (from one of the guys) and has made me sick too! Tried to avoid him as much a possible but it's kind of hard obviously. My sister's wedding is this weekend. I know I'm being dramatic and probably U, but I'm so annoyed. I feel rotten, supposed to be going to hers to get nails done on Thursday evening but if I'm still ill can't risk infecting her kids and making the day miserable with a groggy toddler. Also, please help me get better Grin

It's only Monday so I'm sure by Thursday you'll be feeling lots better.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 15:51

@MyForbiddenLover that's true! I really hope so. I wonder if I'll still be contagious.

Echinacea
Vitamins
Vicks
Paracetamol
Tissues
Lucozade
Sorted

UncomfortableSilence · 19/08/2019 15:57

Echinacea is what you need, first sign of a cold start taking it and it should really help.

I was down with cold Sunday before last, felt awful. Then on Wednesday I was up and running. And I’m not a strong person. DH and DD were fine. I took paracetamol 3 times per day for 3 days. Good luck! Have plenty of tissues! Good for colds and weddings!

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 15:59

Thank you!! Will be requesting that he stops off after work seeing as I'm fully blaming him for this Grin

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 15:59

@flouncyfanny I may come back to you on that..

OP posts:
Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 16:00

@greenlynx thank you! That's my problem, I never recover quickly, probably because I don't look after myself as I should though

I find Beechams Cold and Flu Capsules Max Strength All in One really helps

CigarsofthePharoahs · 19/08/2019 16:53

You want the over the counter sudafed, it works way better than the ordinary stuff.

Alternatively I have some manky decking I want to turn into a patio. You can shove his body under there.

LittleTopic · 19/08/2019 17:36

Ginger for sore/tickly throats!

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 17:43

Ok I think the plan is to send him to send him to the shop to get all the aforementioned items. Then use @flouncyfanny 's shovel to bury him under @CigarsofthePharoahs 's new patio. Happy to help lay that for use of the makeshift grave Grin you may have to wait until I've cured myself though

Given the upcoming events, get to bed as much as possible.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 17:49

@Purpleartichoke I'm there right now eating pizza Smile need all my strength Grin

rainbowruthie · 19/08/2019 17:51

I could supply a digger if that helps at all?

FirenzeArno · 19/08/2019 17:52

There's a product called "ManFlu" (Ironic really!) but it comes in a small glass bottle. Sainsbury's or Home Bargains normally has it. You either down it in one or add it to hot water. I prefer it hot! It really helps. (And is sugar free so always good to find something that doesn't affect my diabetes too!)

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 19/08/2019 18:07

Just rest as much as possible. I'm a great one for carrying on as normal, but if you want to get back up to speed for an event then bed and rest. DH can do everything, which is better than being murdered to death when you think about it...

Ladyfaith · 19/08/2019 18:13

Sod it, I was about to offer legal advice and how to hide bodies 🤦‍♀️. And herbs to use

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 19:04

@rainbowruthie that sounded perfect until @LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett made the very good point of him being more useful alive... for now @Ladyfaith I might take that advice for later

Thanks @FirenzeArno I'll send him out for some!

ReallyHeavy1 · 19/08/2019 19:12

There’s a product called Sambucol you can buy from Holland and Barrett for a tenner, it’s an immune booster & works wonders!

Gooseygoosey12345 · 19/08/2019 19:23

@rainbowruthie thanks
@ReallyHeavy1 sounds like Sambuca so I'll deffo give it a go haha

Sleep is your friend here. You don't need tiredness on top of everything else. Get some night nurse and sleep like the dead.

It is without doubt the foulest concoction known to man so good luck swallowing it !

TwistedFairytales · 20/08/2019 05:57

I think being unwell is clouding your judgement, I am like that when I'm ill too. It's not your husband's fault he caught a cold or that you caught it off him. That's how germs work.

My MIL is germ phobic and if she gets a cold if I've had one recently she acts like i personally and deliberately chose to give it to her like some flu assassin. Winds me right up. Deal with it.
