To kill DH

Ok I'm not actually going to kill him BUT he went fishing last week, caught a cold (from one of the guys) and has made me sick too! Tried to avoid him as much a possible but it's kind of hard obviously. My sister's wedding is this weekend. I know I'm being dramatic and probably U, but I'm so annoyed. I feel rotten, supposed to be going to hers to get nails done on Thursday evening but if I'm still ill can't risk infecting her kids and making the day miserable with a groggy toddler. Also, please help me get better Grin

You could have caught your cold of anyone

Gooseygoosey12345 · 20/08/2019 09:06

@Thehouseintheforest good idea. I've slept pretty well so far but could do with sleeping earlier to rest more. I'll get some today

The cold definitely came from DH. It's quite a nasty one and no one else is sick. It's lighthearted though Smile I'm not actually going to kill him, shit happens. I really just want to speed up my recovery as much as possible. And it's just a really inconvenient time to be sick which is typical for me. Had flu just before my own wedding! Luckily I got better before the day but DS had a poorly tummy the night before the wedding so I had zero sleep, it's always the way.

Sleep sleep sleep. Your body fights faster when aslepp

sackrifice · 20/08/2019 09:08

If you do bury him make sure it is deep otherwise - so many flies.

Never again!

SignedUpJust4This · 20/08/2019 09:08

Oh and ltb

NameChangerAmI · 20/08/2019 09:18

It's only Tuesday, and it's only a cold!

I imagine there are people on here reading this, struggling with chronic & life debilitating illnesses, even cancer!

I know your OP is tongue in cheek, but even so...

Don't forget to put a post on fb, so that you get swamped with "You OK babes?" and "Here if you need me, babes!" type responses.

IABU, probably, but it pisses me right off when people can't even deal with a cold.

Flame me! YABU but no doubt so am I! Grin

Gooseygoosey12345 · 20/08/2019 09:33

@sackrifice ooh good tip!!

@NameChangerAmI yeah you are being a dick. I've dealt with much worse, I can deal with a cold. It's a lighthearted thread, if you don't like it you can always move on to another. And just because someone else is more sick it doesn't mean that I can't have a laugh at myself. I would never have wanted anyone to not joke around because they pitied me. Talk about buzzkill

OK I take that one on the chin. Grin

I don't normally comment on threads I don't like. If your title had said "I have a cold," I wouldn't have read it, but as it was designed to do, your title drew me in, and I thought it was a really serious problem, so I read it!

I should have just jogged on though!

But I'm having the last work...YABU! Grin

Gooseygoosey12345 · 20/08/2019 12:11

Totally fine for you to say IABU, I'll take that. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Just please don't assume I don't know what it's like to have a serious health condition either (probably why I'm more annoyed about the cold, it's gonna take me more to get better than usual, and the timing too of course). Also would like to clarify I'm annoyed about the cold, not annoyed AT DH in case anyone thought that.

Goosey I'm sorry for any offence caused.

Your title AIBU To Kill DH implied that your annoyance was directed at your DH, rather than the cold, so that's where that misunderstanding came from!

Genuinely hope all the remedies suggested on here help, and that you're feeling better by Thursday, and back to your old self in time for the wedding.

Al2O3 · 20/08/2019 18:38

If you had eaten the fish he caught you wouldn’t be in this predicament. Their oil is good don’t you know.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 20/08/2019 18:55

@NameChangerAmI ooh don't worry Smile yeah I can understand how it came across like that. Clearly my attempt at humour was not clear, I'm blaming the cold Grin thank you! Me too!
@Al2O3 oh god, he was carp/catfish fishing, I don't think I'd fancy eating either of those. Plus he didn't catch anything so I'm calling it karma Grin
