The knives are out for the royal family

It may be deserved in some cases, however it would seem the gloves are off as far as the media are concerned. They have lived high on the hog for centuries so what is new?

Am scratching my head here is it shoot the royal family season or a smoke and mirrors exercise designed to distract us from something more important??

I would hate to be in the PR business with the RF just now.

I didn’t post that Andrew didn’t know Epstein was a convicted sex offender.

1Morewineplease · 21/08/2019 01:07

No it isn’t.

Winterlife · 21/08/2019 02:07

@MoaningMinnie1. True. However, Andrew had the advantage of an independent court verdict to confirm Epstein’s abuse. The prude statement suggests to me he understood what occurred and didn’t care.

managedmis · 21/08/2019 02:23

Bloody randy Andy in that photo

Give it up man, give it up

I'd LOVE to see Murdochs vault. Isn't he married to Jerry Hall nowadays? Bet their dinner parties are interesting Grin

managedmis · 21/08/2019 02:27

But her tolerance of Andrew and his dodgy pals will end up making her look stupid. And that hadn't happened before.

Yup.

When I was a young teen growing up in a beautiful but relatively impoverished area we had to fend off these 'recruiters' who were often women- we just thought they were a bit dodgy but it's just so sinister!!

TelAvivLastNight · 21/08/2019 04:59

For anyone who enjoys a bit of royal gossip - Kitty Kelley's book 'The Royals' is a very entertaining read. She more than alludes to the 'issues' Mountbatten had.

TelAvivLastNight · 21/08/2019 05:05

And from reading the Kitty Kelley book - it seems clear that the whole royal circle and court is historically extremely promiscuous and 'broad minded'. This may explain why Andrew et al get caught up in these situations- situations most people would steer clear of. It all seems relatively normal in their circles where anything you want can be arranged and anything goes. Any proclivity is indulged.

Absolutely appalling and I really hope this time it is not just brushed under the carpet.

user1497863568 · 21/08/2019 05:32

They don't even try to brush it under the carpet though Kitty. They're flagrant with the abuse and deceit and callous to the victims :( Then they have a right whinge about our birthrates.

SheStoopsToConker · 21/08/2019 07:17

Erm, Kate and Wills are quite tight with the Beckhams and Roger Federer

RF has given Prince George tennis lessons, so the Cambridges aren't above taking advantage of their celebrity friendships. And I'm not sure it's them being "discreet" - it's just that the press choose to leave them alone. I'm sure they could put a negative spin on everything they do too if they really tried.

SheStoopsToConker · 21/08/2019 07:18

That's utterly grim @user1497863568

RonnieScotts · 21/08/2019 08:29

The royal family are wealthy enough to pay for their own perfectly luxurious family holidays....its self serving, flashy and tacky to accept over the top extravagant trips away as gifts from celebrities.

Just as it is to wear engagement dresses that cost twice the average annual salary in the UK. M&H are a PR disaster and they just don't seem to care at all. They are 'takers' who do exactly as they please.

If anyone has seen the crown on Netflix.
They will remember how bad news is softly delivered to the Queen.
Someone sitting next to her, it's bad mam, Andrew is on file defending convicted child offender, very close friendship. Etc etc.

But mam, he entertained him at your castles.

Joy, I disagree, it's the mail that seems to be gunning for Andrew the most!

user1497863568 · 21/08/2019 09:10

It was... don't know if it's relevant but we all have stories like this in my community. It's not Muslim men we were afraid of!!

Nothingcomesforfree · 21/08/2019 09:10

What would people like to happen to Andrew out if interest and how should the Queen be handling it?

Gobbolinocat · 21/08/2019 09:14

Not sure. Off top of my head, grovelling apology admitting very very stupid and poor choice of not only friend but of judgement, and the aftermath defence of his friend etc.

Relinquish hrh status. No more tax payer funded security or money at all. Not one penny.

Something like that...

Passthecherrycoke · 21/08/2019 09:14

I’d like PA to cooperate with the US authorities then do a tell all tv programme with Martin bashir so we can all hear it.

It’s bugger all to do with the queen tbf, he’s a grown man.

LaurieMarlow · 21/08/2019 09:15

Kate owns lots of couture frocks that are so expensive there’s no list price. She has many couture coats.

They are all like this. If you’ve only noticed/objected now that Meghan’s doing it then I find that very interesting.

Does she Laurie? Like what? She seems to be in mid range designers most of the time.
