To feel awkward wearing a backpack as a grown woman?

Starting a new business in September, cleaning. I don't drive, so I'm considering buying this backpack to carry all my cleaning products. I just have one problem though, I always feel like a school kid when wearing a backpack I don't know why, feels so awkward🙈. Anyone here who's not a student wear a backpack instead of a normal bag?

Me. Am 34.

I wear a backpack everyday.

I can't be bothered with a handbag. Not enough room for shopping and I don't like single shoulder bags.

You'll get used to it!!! Or you could consider a pull along trolley? I'd have a look for a business that can provide one with your logo and phone number on though Grin

I work in academia, and most people have backpacks - especially those who walk / cycle to work. Easiest way to carry a laptop.

Yes I used to wear one shoulder bag but was causing me back and shoulder pain,now I have a nice rucksack (It's leather and so feels more adult than a school bag).

I'm 37 and I love my Osprey rucksack. It has so many pockets, is seriously comfortable to wear even when fully loaded, and even has a waterproof cover for when it rains.

I'm 36 and I wear backpacks all the time. I do have one that can convert from a tote to a backpack, but Even that one's usually in backpack mode Smile

Yes. Am late forties. I have a computer rucksack in which I carry all my work stuff. If I tried to carry it any other way I’d end up with back and joint problems. So, nice neat black rucksack, like yours.

I wear one every day as well, to put all my work and personal stuff in. I love mine and it feels empowering to be hands-free as you're strolling along. Honestly, if you look around, there will be so many grown women wearing one.

Oh and I agree a trolley bag would be a better idea because liquids are heavy.

I use backpacks all the time - very practical and good for your back. I've never given much thought to what I look like carrying one and I don't really have any thoughts about what other people look like using them.

Backpacks are much more practical as you have your hands free and it is better for your back as more even weight distribution. Never occurred to me as a 57 year old that I might be considered too old for one!

I love a back pack! I hate handbags, they are so impractical, I think you’ll soon fall in love with wearing a backpack.

Don't be silly. I cycle part of the way to work and carry my clothes and laptop in a backpack, because how else would I carry them? How do you think people carry things hiking or trekking? Most adult humans who get to work some way other than a car carry their things in a backpack, because that's how humans are built to carry things. On their back.

I wear a back pack every day- I walk or cycle to my professional office job. No way can I carry my laptop in a shoulder bag 5 miles a day without giving myself an injury. Most of the Guys I work with use back packs too for the same reason.

I always cringe when I see people lugging about a handbag and a laptop bag looking all flustered.

Back packs are fine for all ages.
A pull-along wheeled box might be easier though. Damp cloths, keeping bottles upright, long-handled feather duster sticking out...

I will be soon! Our nappy bag is a rucksack style one for easier carrying.

I'm late forties btw.

I'm also planning a bum bag (mentioned above) for when I go walking along the beach. It means I'll only need to take my keys and phone out with me.

I have my work backpack with special pockets for all my kit, and then I have my other backpack with all my dinner and other essentials . I didn’t realise there was an age limit ?

I use backpacks nearly every day e.g. going to gym have small backpack, my DD;s spare stuff for childminder go into another small backpack, need to carry stuff on my bike/shopping/travelling on public transport have 3 more backpacks with different pockets and capacities.
