Sewing. I enjoy making clothes and do it every week.

After @alittleprivacy 's post I really want to go skating again. Just don't know where to do it.

I do pole fitness as my main hobby. Also enjoy walking, reading and gaming

I knit. And sew - it started as a necessity, just mending things that had small amounts of damage, a button needed reattaching, etc. Then I started making simple things - I made a couple of scrunchies (I used to have long hair). I recently started making simple stuff for DD to wear, skirts etc. I'm much better at the knitting, so far, I can do quite fancy knitting & only fairly simple sewing patterns, so far. However I plan to get more proficient at sewing so that when I'm a bit slimmer in a year or two (am dieting) I'll feel confident enough to make something for myself.

I also like baking, & growing a few bits of fruit & veg in my backyard. I like making jam out of the fruit that grows wild locally.

@alittleprivacy where do you skate? You’ve made it sound like a brilliant past time! I have got some inline skates (when the kids got some a couple of years ago) but we’ve only ever been around our road and over to the skate park with them. Where do you go on your long skates?

TroysMammy · 13/08/2019 15:37

Card making, reading and vegetable gardening. I also dabble in dolls houses, sewing, making sausages, bread, chutney, jam/jelly and pasta.

Art and colour therapy - I also upload them on my YouTube channel to share some laughs and give others 5 minutes of relaxation each day.

Where do you go on your long skates?
Where I live there are a lot of mixed travel routes designed for self powered transport like walkers, cyclists, scooters, skaters, etc. So I mainly stick to those. The surface is pretty good and about half of it is really scenic. For a marathon length skate I do end up doubling up a lot. And I aim to make the last 10km or so be on the flattest, smoothest surface possible as it’s a big boost when I’m tired to have guaranteed glide.

serenoa · 13/08/2019 16:56

Calligraphy, classical music, sewing - making clothes (starting from scratch again), knitting, reading.

I'm retired and live alone, it's wonderful. Grin

How old were you when you started. Do you have a coach? And what standard are you at now?

Hi @alittleprivacy

I was 24 when I started figure skating lessons, I could skate already as I lived in roller skates as a kid. Yes have an individual coach, when I first started I just did group lessons and went through all the Skate UK levels. I'm working on double jumps and layback spins at the moment.

That's awesome you're into artistic roller skating. Have you seen Tanya Romero on YouTube? Absolutely incredible, looks like Olympic figure skating on roller skates! I've always wanted to try out those long skates as well - you can do ice skating tours around Scandinavia on frozen lakes. Definitely on my bucket list.

Gaming, mostly mmorpg’s like World of Warcraft and then some sewing when I get the urge. Great combination! Grin

Knitting, crocheting, dressmaking and reading. And shopping for yarn, books and fabric. I believe that shopping for craft projects and actually completing them are two different and entirely separate hobbies. Dh does not agree, but he is wrong!

YouJustDoYou · 13/08/2019 18:43

@MarieIVanArkleStinks lol, I LOVE that game! Can't believe I used to move out the way for them .

So far, I'm fancying
Photography, yoga, and learning a language. I like the idea of cycling too, but not sure my knees would agree with this (old injury)
I have loved reading through all your hobbies - some very very busy people out there!
