Jelly fish! Very pretty but zero personality, they don’t even react to being fed!

toria6118 · 12/08/2019 21:52

Bengal cat, horribly noisy thing. Had her for years and love her dearly, but the noise! Omg!

StupidlittlepricknamedRick · 12/08/2019 21:56

Our family cat when I was a kid. Filthy disgusting thing put me off cats for life. Looked just like Lucifer from Cinderella. Peed and shit wherever he wanted, chewed up our stuff worse than my bloody Labrador ever has, scratched and bit anyone who looked at him funny. My mother treated him like a prince and he was an absolute twat.

BlueSkiesLies · 12/08/2019 21:57

Goldfish. Boring as fuck and actually quite a lot of work.

I quite liked my gerbils, I liked the sound they made at night all busy. Was quite comforting.

One cat was a vicious fucker, still have scars on my arms 20 years later. He could be very loving as well though, you just couldn’t move in case he went from loving to vicious fucker in the blink of an eye.

Current cat. Soft as fuck and quite needy for not a whole lot of love back. He might deign to come sit near you sometime. I love him so much tho 💗

We started off with two hamsters DD called Thomson and Thompson Grinbecause we couldn't tell them apart. They were ok at first until one started chasing the other and biting its arse. The sore arse one died. Thompson, or was it Thomson, then lived another year and I did right by him but i felt deep misgivings about his former behaviour and never trusted him. He was boring as fuck into the bargain.

absofuckinglutley · 12/08/2019 22:01

@GettickledGETTICKLEDbyspiders
how the hell does a stick insect kill itself ?!

Quartz2208 · 12/08/2019 22:02

Hamsters need a lot more time and space then you think we just adopted one who seemed very stressed and bit all the time. Its because its cage was too small and they were not out enough

Now a bigger cage and time out and they are a lovely little thing who never bites me and is pleased to see me

They are also solitary predatory animals so of course they attack!

madcatladyforever · 12/08/2019 22:02

With regard to hamsters my son's hamster had a beautiful calm personality and was a darling. Never bit and was always up for a snuggle. We all cried when she died.
What do you expect....circus tricks? You get out what you put in.

My current cat that I've had for 18 years is the worst. She bites, scratches, has destroyed 2 sofas by passing on them, shits everywhere and has cost thousands in vets fees but I love her and she loves me. I will be devastated when she dies.

Pinkarsedfly · 12/08/2019 22:03

absofuckinglutely maybe he self-immolated by rubbing himself up against a mate?

70sWitch · 12/08/2019 22:03

Budgie. Most boring pet ever. Noisy too. Then the bloody thing died on Christmas Eve and upset the kids. Bastard!

Awaywiththefairies27 · 12/08/2019 22:03

I had a blind rat, he'd eat anything near the cage. It was a massive cage and I moved it about 4" away from the curtains while I was vacuuming and he ate a mahoosive hole in it, still perplexed how he managed it. Couldn't bond with him as he was blind and therefor I was nothing more than food for him. All my friends at the time had pet rats that would sit on their shoulders and be adorable but not mine. He stank to high heaven, no amount of cleaning made him stink less. Never again.

Also had a rescue dog who tore into my nose when I was 16. I was sat on the floor a few feet away, he just flipped and attacked me, no prompting. My mother kept him. Scarred me for life.

I'm a cat person now, I've got six high maintenance cats and wouldn't part with them for anything despite the endless grooming they need.

Pinkarsedfly · 12/08/2019 22:04

Alpacas were my worst. Spitty, histrionic shitheads. And they stank.

Gorse · 12/08/2019 22:05

Not the hamster's fault! They are solitary animals. Who the hell sold you two together?

BetterEatCheese · 12/08/2019 22:05

Russian dwarf hamsters. Bitey and boring. Accidentally breeding them didn't help- ended up with 21!

Stick insects also a novelty at first but then very boring. Also accidentally bred them - who knew all the females clone themselves! Ended up with hundreds

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 12/08/2019 22:06

When my uncle was a kid in the late 1960s, he went to buy a goldfish. The bastard in the pet shop sold him an angel fish and said it would be fine if you kept it in warm water.

My poor granda got up every hour during the night to top up the fish bowl from the kettle. He slept through from 5am til 7am and when he went down the bugger was dead. We still don't know if the fish froze or boiled to death...

Binforky · 12/08/2019 22:06

African land snails they are so dull and lay eggs constantly that you have to destroy or youd end up with millions of the things. They smelt dank and nasty too.

Someonesayroadtrip · 12/08/2019 22:08

Another vote for hamster. Evil creature.

I have a few pets 😂 think it's funny the dislike of Stick insects, I love mine. Newest addition to our zoo is some giant bunny's, loving them! Picking up another snake later this month too 😂🙈

I'm very sceptical on the Komodo dragon ownership.

StupidlittlepricknamedRick · 12/08/2019 22:09

Davros hahaha Grin trying to chuckle silently and not wake my poorly toddler.

crispysausagerolls · 12/08/2019 22:09

Jack Russell. Family dog. Lived for over 20 years but it was the meanest and craftiest little bastard you’ve ever seen. Used to shake in front of visitors and pretend it has been beaten or mistreated to get attention, then as soon as it was just us family would be all snappy and mean! Smelled awful too. Bloody loved him though 🤪😬

Also had a hamster who escaped and lived under my wardrobe for a year.

Inferiorbeing · 12/08/2019 22:13

We've recently rescued MIL tortoises. Worst pets ever. They shit then get it stuck under them and walk it around for hours. Oh and one of them is all so they currently live inside Angry

stephstrops · 12/08/2019 22:16

My dog is currently the worst as she has just pissed on DDs bed (5 minutes after being let out)

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 12/08/2019 22:18

Another hamster here ! Bitey from the moment he arrived.

tobee · 12/08/2019 22:20

Said this before somewhere on here but the pet gerbils we had at primary school. First there was Nibbles the gerbil who decided to nibble it's own leg off one day. It was lonely and depressed we were told. Sad So they bought 2 gerbils as company. I came in to the classroom before anybody else one morning. To find one had bitten the other one's head off! SadSadShock

This was about 40 years ago and the visual memory is still crystal clear.

Davros · 12/08/2019 22:21

A bit of lettuce just won't do it

Els1e · 12/08/2019 22:25

Definitely, Hector the cockerel. He was a sod. Everything involved his show of attitude.Trying to get back into his super luxurious lodge at night (which all his ladies loved) was ridiculous. I shepherd him with a broom until he ran up the handle and I ran. He eventually got eaten by a fox. Oh dear, never mind.
