Milka ad casting call - awful

I have just red the really creepy casting call for a little girl to advertise milka chocolate.

While there is lots and lots wrong with the call, I am outraged by the no red hair. I have red hair, so does my daughter. We will now be boycotting* this product.

But it has got me wondering, why are unkind comments about red heads still a thing? I endured nasty comments through my childhood, and within the last decade distance myself from a friend who was making nasty comments about a friends baby with red hair. What the hell is wrong with people.

Why do people who would be (quite rightly) outraged by comments about skin colour think it’s okay to target people because of hair colour?

Eurgh, it sounds like a paedophile advertising for his next victim. So very creepy and disgusting.

It is written in quite a creepy way. If it were written along the lines of:

Looking for a girl aged 9 - 11. Aged 12 is possible but must look no older than 11.

The girl should have blonde or brown hair and, ideally, dark brown eyes. Unfortunately we are not looking for a girl with red hair. Height must be no more than 4 ft 4 inches. We are looking for a girl who is still very much a child so will not have reached puberty. It is important that the child is very attractive and has good skin and teeth.

The girl we are looking for will be small and fine featured. The character she will play will be bookish and, at times, introspective but not at all worldly. She will have specific interests (sloths, sunflowers, music, writing stories) and a desire to improve the world.

We need an experienced actress, ideally with her own show reel. There will be some sign language to learn. .

It would probably still get across what they are looking for. All the stuff about her being special, innocent, remarkable, angelic, sweet, warm is what makes the advert so creepy.

That advert is gross!

I have red hair and love it... everyone that doesn't can shove it.

Oh! I'm a poet and didn't know it! Wink

I think this might be what modelling is like though. It’s an industry where it is acceptable to tell slender teenagers that they’re too fat to work in Paris.
