Is it just me? I’m getting a huge amount of annoying pop ups whilst using mn the last couple of days.
I can’t get back to where I was reading or posting when one of these happens and it’s hugely annoying!

Ingles2 · 11/08/2019 09:04

Me three.. why ? And how do we stop them?

LagunaBubbles · 11/08/2019 09:05

No not getting pop ups. But always a big huge ad under first post in every thread I'm on!

fiydwi · 11/08/2019 09:06

I was literally just about to post as I’ve had this since yesterday and it’s driving me nuts!

Deelish75 · 11/08/2019 09:06

I had a couple yesterday. I'm sure this was going on a few months ago, don't know whether it was a hack? Very annoying whatever it is.

sluj · 11/08/2019 09:08

Me too, and these "you have won something " pop ups are often associated with viruses so doubly worrying to see.

Ohnononono · 11/08/2019 09:10

Yes me too, apparently I keep winning things 🙄🙄 very annoying!

dragonflyflew · 11/08/2019 09:11

I also just had a red page pop up when I tried to get back onto mn and it said it was a potentially dangerous website. I don’t know if that’s another pop up in itself or a genuine warning and mn has been hacked?
Wondering if I can report my own post to get their attention?
Do they even monitor the boards on Sundays?

It’s driving me mad too Angry

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 11/08/2019 09:15

Happening here too.

WarmSausageTea · 11/08/2019 09:17

I’m getting it a lot, too.

It happened maybe six months ago; after the data breaches and other problems, it was the last straw and I deregistered. I don’t particularly want to do that again, but the pop-ups and making it largely unusable.

And of course they’re dodgy as fuck.

dragonflyflew · 11/08/2019 09:18

I’ve reported this thread. Fingers crossed!

I’m getting them as well very annoying and only when using this site.

beccarocksbaby · 11/08/2019 09:27

Install ad blocker on your browser? Use the app?

Are you sure you've not got malware on your computer that you've picked up from an ad? I've literally never had a pop up

Palegreenstars · 11/08/2019 09:27

More than any other website they seem to have issues repeatedly. The servers went down this week and now this again? I can only presume it’s down to how much they invest in their stability...

Yes I got one of those too. I assumed I'd clicked on something dodgy and closed/reopened the site.

LilyMumsnet · 11/08/2019 09:44

Hi all

This is super frustrating - we're really sorry.

Can you let us know what devices and browsers you're using?
Could we have some screenshots, please?

Would you also mind letting us know what area you're from (if you're comfortable with sharing this information). It'll help us identify where the popups are coming from.

Also, if you could send us a link to one of the dodgy popups, that would be really, really helpful.
