Well the call centre I was speaking to said their whole place went out except my phonecall! Lights off, computers off, the lot! Dunno which part of the UK you or they were in though..

MoveOnTheCards · 09/08/2019 19:29

Yes! Angry. I’ve been on a train for hours and it’s finally moving but in the opposite fucking direction to the way we’re meant to be going! Likely i’m Going to be stranded in a town miles/hours from home.

MissB83 · 09/08/2019 19:29

I had to get a train to the wrong part of the Midlands from London... fun!

@MoveOnTheCards oh no you poor thing SadI was panicking because my DS was with my parents at home and I was at work; was glad to pick up a train that was going somewhere but it's 20 miles plus from home!

The power went down for about 15 minutes around 5pm here (E Sussex).

MessyMummy15 · 09/08/2019 19:34

No power cut here in north London? I've spoken to a few friends and family dotted about but doesn't seem to have affected us. 🤷🏻‍♀️

thenightsky · 09/08/2019 19:37

DD I stuck on a train at Newark. She says most people have got off.

MrsDragonLady · 09/08/2019 19:39

Parts of our town have been affected, but not others. We are midlands. It seems to have come back on again now though.

Choice4567 · 09/08/2019 19:40

Had a ten minute power cut here (east anglia). In the middle of a film at the cinema. Apparently it takes 3 hours to reboot the screens!

StealthPolarBear · 09/08/2019 19:40

Fine here in county Durham

mommybear1 · 09/08/2019 19:45

Fine here West Midlands- DH works for an energy company and there is a lot of work traffic emails flying around re National Grid Confused

QuckTheDuck · 09/08/2019 19:47

Kings cross and St pancs is a nightmare. Lovely people from our town are collecting relatives and offering out their spare seats to those stranded.

KateUrrer · 09/08/2019 19:50

Online I read even Newcastle airport was affected albeit briefly.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/08/2019 19:50

Surprised we haven’t had one here in Dorset

KateUrrer · 09/08/2019 19:51

Northwest England too. How weird.

Lockheart · 09/08/2019 19:53

All good here in North West London, although I had to get the tube home tonight because Thameslink was at a standstill. Metropolitan line was OK but we didn't stop at St Pancras due to the overcrowding, and I hear the Victoria line is broken too.

yellowitsme · 09/08/2019 19:53

Yes at about 5pm for 5 mins I'm in Scotland

FaFoutis · 09/08/2019 19:58

DH stuck at kings cross, supposed to be coming home tonight to the north on LNER. Advice is not to travel so I booked him a hotel nearby.
We had a weekend away booked so that's buggered too.

MamaFlintstone · 09/08/2019 20:03

Not at home but I’ve seen one or two posts on Facebook from people who live near me (NE) and bits of the Metro are off due to a power failure (no idea if that’s connected though!)

DickieDonkey · 09/08/2019 20:04

On holiday in the Cotswolds and we had about 15 mini power cuts that lasted for 30 seconds or so. We assumed it was the wind now I am wondering if this is part of the BREXIT buildup, a taste of life to come.

MoreCuddlesForMummy · 09/08/2019 20:07

@FaFoutis same here, we lost power for 5/10 mins in East Lothian and DH supposed to be on the 6pm from kings cross to Edinburgh. He’s been away since weds and I’ve just had my first week back at work after 3 years off so I was really looking forward to going to fat club on my own. Will have to take DD now as there’s little chance of him being home by lunchtime 🙄😂 oh well! Thankfully work have booked him a hotel.

growinganotherhead · 09/08/2019 20:07

Power went off in parts of Newcastle at 5.30ish. Got a text from Northern Power at 7pm to say they were working hard to restore power by 6.30pm Grin. Pretty much sums them up really, look forward to re-nationalisation.

Zaphodsotherhead · 09/08/2019 20:09

Nothing so far in North Yorkshire, although we've just had a rumble of thunder and the wind is getting up again...

MissB83 · 09/08/2019 20:11

@growinganotherhead Grinwhat stellar service from Northern Power, they can even time travel!
