to not own up to eating the nuggets?

The other day a couple of my workmates got McDonald’s for lunch. They were in the break room whilst I was but finished before me and left all their rubbish on the table. I got up to clear it up and noticed a box of 6 nuggets had been left amongst the mess. I got a bit greedy and demolished them I was due my period and trying really really hard not to eat junk food but I couldn’t resist them. I thought they were not wanted.

Anyway about an hour later my other colleague came back from an appointment and one of the colleagues who had been to McDonald’s said “your nuggets are in the break room”. I then realised they weren’t leftovers at all and I’d eaten my workmates nugs!

I felt really bad but was too scared to say anything and it’s turned into a bit of a witch hunt round the office. The thing is so many people had been into the break room it’s almost impossible to pin it on me. I managed to get into work early the other day, slip £5 into my colleagues desk to cover the nuggets then went out for a coffee and came back to the office at normal starting time.

But people are still going on about who the nugget thief is and the longer it goes on the more worried I am about saying it was me.

I've just ordered a McDonald's from Uber Eats because of this thread

That PP wasn't really a colleague. Kate is on the wind up, she doesn't work there.

One thing I miss in retirement is the politics of the staffroom kitchen!! Who's used my mug?

etc
etc.

Two well paid guys used to share a tea bag, the one whose turn it was to bring the milk that week got the first dip of the tea bag that week.

@GhostBusting we had a case of someone leaving their poo on the toilet seat. This happened quite a few times and we never found out who it was. Who shits on the toilet seat?! Like how, wasn't even skid marks either but full in turds.

What kind of lunch is 6 nuggets for a grown adult anyway I'd be starving still after such a tiny nutritionless snack as a lunch

People are being ridiculously po-faced about the OP eating ‘rubbish’. Does food instantly become inedible once someone decides they’ve had enough or don’t fancy it? Her colleague would have eaten it had the OP not already mistakenly done so - would the exact same untouched nuggets still have counted as food rather than rubbish had the colleague eaten them?

In my office any food left out on the kitchen table would be fair game. Often if there’s a big meeting or some kind of all day training, there will be sandwiches or pizzas ordered. It rarely all gets eaten, so the leftovers are there for whoever wants them. Is that ‘gross’? There’s more than enough waste in the world without chucking perfectly good food in the bin because people turn their noses up at someone eating ‘rubbish’, when minutes earlier it was still food because it was on a different plate.

OHHHH good gollly !!! I what. I woud have given them my life savings and begg for fogiveness i am shocked but ibe been in a similar situation. Se i made cookies 🍪 and brought them in to my work place my friend said she felt ill and like she was gonna be sick so i eat the cookie i mad for her how ever i did not tell her about me bringing in cookies so i thought that i had slipped away from the crime scene however my other friend who i commute to work eith had already told her about them so only my friend who i commute with got cookies other than me oh well she still brings it up though i fear i shall never live it down oh well.

I had the new spicy nuggets last night. They are very nice.

They were probably squatting on the seat. Once, I went to dagenham market, was forced out of desperation to use the loo's, walked in, and there was a big massive sign telling people not to stand or squat on the toilet seat.

Now THAT is minging, not eating left over nuggets.

I work in a UK university and we had to do the same. Obviously there are squatting toilets in other countries but someone repeatedly stood on the accessible toilet at my work and shat all over the place, broke the seat, etc.

But even if you were used to squatting toilets you’d understand that the shit goes in the bowl Leaving it on the seat is not a misunderstanding, it’s a deliberate dirty protest.

I would say you binned them by accident and left cash on her desk as you felt guilty.

I wouldn’t say anything. How grim of the eaters to leave all their rubbish on the table, perfectly reasonable to assume any food left also is leftovers. Also grim to leave chicken sitting around at room temp for hours, put it in the fridge if you intend coming back for it! You’ve left it too late to fess up, the Nancy Drew’s will lose interest soon, and a £5 must have paid for Chicken Eaters entire meal, not just the nuggets.

I think your colleagues don't have enough work to do ...

@NuggieThief you need to go out to mcds but your lunch return to work and exclaim loudly that your nugget box is empty. Those thieving toe rags at McDs we're to blame-there never were and nuggets!?
