Is not getting far more media coverage?

Heartbroken for Nora and her family. Hoping for a lovely family holiday and their child dies so far from home. I hope they get the right help to bring her home quickly and easily.
Praying for her parents and her brother and sister tonight.

Spotting a body can be very hard. There have been other cases where a body has been missed in an organised search.

escapade1234 · 13/08/2019 22:58

How old are their other children? I don’t know how families recover from this sort of thing, but especially so far from home, it must feel like a terrible nightmare.

EmeraldShamrock · 13/08/2019 23:00

There is no point in speculating until the autopsy is completed.
I hope it is a case she wandered off although it would have been terrifying, the alternative is far more sinister.
I'm glad they can bring her home, the thought of never finding your child no matter what the circumstances. Sad

Knitwit99 · 13/08/2019 23:01

Their younger daughter is 12 I think and the son is 8. So old enough to know what has happened but too young to understand it. As if any of us can understand it. Awful.

yolofish · 13/08/2019 23:03

The only positive thing is at least they know... I cant imagine anything worse than not knowing what had happened to your child. I know it's not a 'positive' as such, but better than never ever knowing.

HennyPennyHorror · 13/08/2019 23:12

yolo I thought that. It's a terrible, awful thing but had they not found her, it would have been even worse if that's possible. People go for years not knowing where their loved one is...wondering if someone stole them....what sort of life they're leading. This is a horrible outcome but they can take her home and have a funeral.

EmeraldShamrock · 13/08/2019 23:16

I thought that too today, at least they have her.
It must be bringing back painful memories for the McCann's.

LittleDoritt · 14/08/2019 00:10

Oh Nora. Sad
I'm so gutted to read this update. Rest in peace little one.

catinboots99 · 14/08/2019 00:19

So sad. RIP Nora

x2boys · 14/08/2019 00:30

It's so sad ,all children are precious but when you have a child with disabilities you spend your life fighting for them, advocating for them going to endless meetings etc I feel so sad for her family😥

Oakmaiden · 14/08/2019 00:43

It must be bringing back painful memories for the McCanns.

I thought that too. The girls would have been very similar ages - my daughter was only a few months younger than MM, and is the same age as Nora.

I can't even begin to imagine. I feel so unaccountably sad for Nora's parents tonight.

MiniMum97 · 14/08/2019 00:50

Very sad news for Nora and her family. 💐

Linh Le has thankfully been found.

The Linh Le case terrified me. I work with Vietnamese teenagers, many of whom have been trafficked, and have heard some horrendous stories. Glad she was found, and quickly!

LatteLove · 15/08/2019 00:59

Le has thankfully been found
Thank god

I can’t stop thinking about Nora and my heart hurts when I see photos of her. Such a lovely child :( unbelievably awful. Her poor family. Their suffering must be unimaginable

CatapultingCookies · 15/08/2019 07:13

Such a sad post mortem result. Obviously great she wasn't abducted but frustrating that they didn't find her. Those poor, poor parents.

Billballbaggins · 15/08/2019 07:16

It’s so sad they couldn’t find her sooner. But in that area it really is like finding a needle in a haystack. Thinking of her family

EleanorReally · 15/08/2019 07:18

her poor family, her poor siblings, isnt that very quick for a post mortem though?

Billballbaggins · 15/08/2019 07:20

I don’t think it’s particularly quick, what do you mean?

oakleaffy · 15/08/2019 07:24

Poor Nóra..It appears she died of 'natural causes' not foul play..Just so distressing for her and her family.

MyOtherProfile · 15/08/2019 07:26

Postmortem has to be quick doesn't it? Before the body changes too much. Inquests take much longer.

Yogagirl123 · 15/08/2019 07:42

Poor little Nora, so, so sad. Her poor parents, family & friends, I hope they get the support they will need to help them cope with their tragic loss. RIP Nora.

Aqueo517 · 15/08/2019 07:52

No it’s not quick for a post mortem, the examination takes a few hours and then any test results take longer but often a conclusion can be made from the physical examination alone.

It’s so desperately sad,I can’t imagine what her family must be going through and how scared she would have been.

They’ll be endless conspiracy theories now, I don’t know why, I can completely understand the circumstances of her death. Tragic and heartbreaking.

ThighThighOfthigh · 15/08/2019 08:37

"Thankfully" it appears to have been a series of accidental happenings. Disoriented, lost her way etc. Dreadful but I'm glad it's not the alternative. Poor Nora and family.
