To not want DH to go to wedding

DH is currently away for work for three weeks. He called me this evening to say that his friend has said he’s getting married and having the legal ceremony 2 days after DH gets home. This friend lives in America. The actual wedding will be in 2 years. It’s a very close friend of DH’s but quite a strange situation with a very last minute legal ceremony. DH is away again the first two weeks of September for work.
I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and am suffering with bad sickness and all the usual symptoms, we also have a 2 year old DD.
AIBU to say no I need you home to help?? (I have said this and he’s kicked up a fuss)

If he went he’d be home for a grand total of about 4 day’s before he leaves for the next two weeks away for work.

Vows not views.

The work trips are work, not pleasure. Some people have jobs that mean they have to travel. The wedding is very last minute but is not the same as working

The legal bit is the real wedding. That's where you get all the protections and rights by signing the marriage contract. The rest is a party or at best a blessing to celebrate. Like a small funeral then a public memorial.
Likely op will feel better in 2 years? So making him choose is silly, the question is whether she can manage, afford more help, has other support.

OP, you are absolutely right I haven't had morning sickness that affected me that badly, it sounds dreadful. I hope your DH decides not to go of his own accord, because he realises that you are struggling and he wants to be at home and look after you.

Obviously you're not BU to not want him to go; it's the notion that you have any right to 'tell' him what to do or, as other posters have said, put your foot down/order him not to go etc. He's your husband not your toddler!

YNBU. I think it is a big ask on your dp’s part especially as you have a small dd.

I am also unimpressed by this 2 part wedding shizzle. I find it annoying enough when people have a 2 part honeymoon with the first one described as a mini-moon and another holiday they have 6 months later as the honeymoon but this is way worse than that.
