I'm 26 and sometimes I dress like a 17 year old and sometimes like a 60 year old. I'm not keen on colour and stick to neutral tones and classic styles but try to add some fashion items to avoid looking too boring

MadamWaffle · 27/07/2019 18:40

30 years old and in a jumpsuit...

ZillaPilla · 27/07/2019 18:41

Dunno. I'm 48. Reading that I shouldn't show my upper arms. They are on show a lot. I think they're nice and toned.

SinglePringle · 27/07/2019 18:43

I’m going to say yes as I don’t show my bare knees or chest or upper arms and I think that’s what they say you should do post 40

Who says?

grannycake · 27/07/2019 18:47

I'm 63 and refuse to wear things that I don't like just because someone (who?) has decided that's what I should wear. I love fashion and hope that I always will. Rules re hair length, skirt length, sleeve length are ridiculous - wear what suits you and makes you happy. Must have pockets though

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 27/07/2019 18:51

I dress like a small child, bright shoes or boots, colorful clothes, lots of patterns.

I've recently bought some oversized hippie trousers which are just lovely, make me feel 13 again.

SudowoodoVoodoo · 27/07/2019 18:51

No, I'm in my late 30s and still fit in ages 12/13/ 14. They don't go up to my age Wink

If I'm feeling trendy I like to think I pull off the Blue Peter presenter look, plaited bunches, dungarees, bold colours. My active wear features a lot of loud Tikiboo leggings. I'm also loving that my student clothes are genuinely vintage and trendy again after 20 years.

No wonder I get IDed a lot for someone who was old enough to buy alcohol last century Grin

If I try to do polished, I just look like I'm dressing up like my mum!

speakout · 27/07/2019 18:55

Of course .I am nearly 60. I wear mostly acrylic, nylon and pretty lace.
We need to maintain standards.

Eaudear · 27/07/2019 18:56

I can't do polished, I'm too scruffy plus I'm quite short with stumpy legs so it just doesn't work if I try to wear those sorts of clothes.

Nameusernameuser · 27/07/2019 18:57

Not at all. I'm 21, I wear leggings/jeans and t shirts or vest tops with cardigans. Think I got used to wearing clothes like that when I was breastfeeding and have just carried on. I think I dress like a 35 year old to be honest. I never even get ID'd anymore Grin

ysmaem · 27/07/2019 19:00

29 and live in tights and dresses, leggings and t shirts and yoga pants. I think I dress appropriately for my age

LadyRannaldini · 27/07/2019 19:02

71, what should I be wearing? Currently in a pair of cut-down jeans shorts and a loose t-shirt from Next, bare feet, but I do that all year round, even did my driving test bare foot.

Alsohuman · 27/07/2019 19:05

Great arms @ZillaPilla, if mine looked like that they’d be out regardless of age.

Lweji · 27/07/2019 19:13

Probably too old, too young and to my age at different times.
I'm 47.
I'm slim and have toned arms and legs, but a bit too much tummy and boobs on the larger side but not too big.

Most teenagers I see are in jeans, t-shirt and trainers or boots.
It's the long hair that sets most apart, IMO.

CaptainMyCaptain · 27/07/2019 19:13

I'm 64, I wear 50s style dresses or a dungaree type pinafore. Skinny jeans or baggy trousers. Short skirts or dresses over leggings or longer ones. All bright colours and made by me. I wear what I like.

CaptainMyCaptain · 27/07/2019 19:14

Long hair too and am happy to reveal my upper arms.

starfishcoffee · 27/07/2019 19:15

Probably not. I'm v young and have a toddler. I'm usually in a t-shirt and slim jeans. My Nikes are probably the truest item to my age. Started caring less after realising you can't breastfeed in a jumpsuit.Confused----

CrumbsCrumbsEverywhere · 27/07/2019 19:18

Nope. Late thirties ,responsible job, work that involves being very professional. Yesterday I wore hot pants & denim waistcoat over bikini top . My hair's bright pink. People should be allowed to be themselves.

BobTheFishermansWife · 27/07/2019 19:18

I still haven't grown out of the skinnies, oversized tee or jumper and trainers/heels and I'm 28.

b0bb1n · 27/07/2019 19:23

No I'm 30 and I still love my short shorts.

SaxxedtotheMax · 27/07/2019 19:23

Im 46 & I have to admit I do have to 'copy' looks from online, else I would look like a twat I expect Blush

I'm quite boring in my style, never more than 3 colours if I can help it, this kind of thing -

I am 34 and most think I am aged between 17-21. I hate it.
I dress my age but people look at the face and body more when determining someone's age.
I think the thirties are a difficult age to dress for. Some shops are too young, others too mature

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 27/07/2019 19:24

I’m 48 and sometimes I’m in suits and smart dresses, sometimes I’m wafting around in colourful Gudrun Sjöden frocks, sometimes I’m in jeans and rock band T-shirts. What is someone my age meant to wear anyway? Beige polyester? Per Una? Hmm

alldownhillat40 · 27/07/2019 19:29

I'm not sure tbh, I don't want to look like s typical 40 y/o but I probably do! I'm having a wobble at the moment as I'm feeling a bit fat and old

What does a typical 40 year old look
Like? Asking honestly as I'm 40 and wondering if I fall into it?!

Chocolateandamaretto · 27/07/2019 19:33

I’m 29 and I live in dungarees or floral maxi skirts/dresses. Probably fine for my age but generally pretty casual! I work in a library though so a bit boho is generally fine Grin
I have big scars on both my knees where I split them open on the edge of a tiled floor so I don’t wear anything short!
