Who is BU?

3 neighbours in a terrace.

Neighbour 1,2,3.
Neighbour 1 has lived here the longest, a couple, no children, no pets.
Neighbour 2, couple with 2 children and pets.
Neighbour 3, couple with 3 children and pets.

Neighbours 2&3 have noisy hot tubs when the bubbles are on and noisy children. Pets make no noise in either house.

Neighbour one complains to neighbour 2, that it’s noisy with music, bubbles,children as it didn’t all stop until 8:30pm on a Thursday.

Neighbour 3 has bubbles on that are loud until 10pm with kids in garden because school holidays on the same day.

neighbour 2 doesn’t complain to neighbour 3.
No neighbours had work the next day as they don’t work, except neighbours 2. So no early mornings for neighbours 1&3.

Whose being unreasonable?
Do neighbours 1 have the right to complain for noise that stopped at 8:30?
Should neighbours 2 complain to neighbour 3?
Should neighbour 1 also complain to number 3?

So now, the more I read the more it comes across that you just don't like Neighbour 1 all that much. Their comments weren't aimed at you so why don't you just butt out and let the adjacent neighbours deal with each other? You and Neighbour 2 rub along ok, so count your blessings and leave it at that.

That doesn't matter though. People should be able to go to bed when they want to regardless of whether they have to get up in the morning for an appointment or not.

I would be annoyed by noise after 8:30pm because I go to bed early. But regardless of having work the next day and going to bed early, it’s nice to have some time in the evening not spent listening to other people’s noise.

Hot tubs are fairly anti social in my opinion. They are noisy and encourage people to be outside more often and later into the evening than they would have otherwise.
